quote:Bama/Saban wants a 9 game SEC schedule but Spurrier and the rest of the conference shot that shite down. WHY?
One is permanent and the other rotates slower than Bama fans trying to figure out math.

Still doesn't solve UA/UT and UA/AU.

I don't know why they did but if I were them I'd be focusing on the no permanent cross-division aspect first.
6-2>>>> 6-2-1
6-2>>>> 6-2-1

Are we just going to pretend the last 5 years didn't happen and Florida is still at Meyer/Spurrier levels?
Posted on 1/28/15 at 1:31 pm to Cockopotamus
or why don't we send Alabama and auburn to the east, bring mizzou and vandy out west, and have a nine game schedule with no permanent cross division opponents. everyone wins there

We don't care what teams who joined the conference 30 years ago think about rivalries. If we have to chose between having 14 teams in a conference and playing traditional rivals then lets kick all the newcomers to the curb.
IDGAF about playing USCe, Missouri and Kentucky more often while losing Tennessee. Vote for a 9 game schedule you pvssies.

I'd be totally fine with that even though it would make the East a super division.
Florida
Georgia
Auburn
Alabama
Tennessee
South Carolina
Kentucky
Geebus
However, it would match up a bunch of old rivals
Alabama-Georgia
Auburn-Georgia
Alabama-Tennessee
Auburn-Florida
Auburn-Tennessee

why can't we just drop the rivalry look i understand tradition but when is the last time ut beat Alabama

Tradition is too important amirite?

When was the last time Arkansas beat Alabama? When was the last time Mississippi State beat Alabama? When was the last time LSU beat Alabama? How many times has Ole Miss beat Alabama in the last 10 years (or ever)?
If we determined who played who based on that Alabama would basically play Auburn 8 times.

2006, but it has always been a streaky rivalry.

We shouldn't allow Alabama to play Arkansas (8 in a row), State (7 in a row), Tennessee (8 in a row), LSU (4 in a row), Florida (4 in a row) or Ole Miss (10 of last 11 ), led alone Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

look Auburn and Georgia is a rivalry LINK just saying Alabama vs Auburn

You just want Mizzou out of the east so you have a shot at winning the division. Let them take care of their own rivalries.
Posted on 1/28/15 at 1:45 pm to monteg
Georgia has won 7 of 9. Doesn't seem like much of a rivalry.

Them protecting their rivalries negatively affects us though
