Not sure why Auburn fans keep saying this.

Richt has done well against AU overall.

Outside of 2010 and 2013, most SEC schools have done well against Auburn over the last 10 years. What's your point?

If winning the East on a regular basis counts as mediocre, I hope Freeze achieves mediocrity.

A Tennesee fan talking about mediocrity

While UT is mediocre, I don't think they are accepting of it. If UT was UGA, Fulmer would still have a job.

How many coaches in the country have won national titles in the past decade? Meyer and Saban are responsible for 6, with Chiz, Fisher, Miles and Brown

6 total guys and 2 of them aren't HCs anymore. So 4

There are maybe 10 more coaches I'd rather have over Richt, so MAYBE 15 total

With UGA being about the 11th-15th best program historically, that is probably correct.

Now, UGA should probably compete at a top 10 level given where Georgia (the state) and UGA are in the overall landscape, but still, tossing the dice to trade a top 15 coach for a top 8 one is a major gamble unless and until you have a sure bet candidate in mind.

based on, what?

Richt has accomplished far, far more than butch, dooley, or kiffin ever did.

I also think it's funny taht people act like posters on a message board have any say in the personnel decisions of our football staff. Like, people will say "man you UGA fans sure do love being average!" umm welll...it's not like I'm our AD and have the power ot make a change now do I?

I agree, but here is the other take. in the SEC all of these coaches(listed above) have come in since Richt has been here and won one in a short period of time. since '98 BCS era, UGA was the only Big 6 team to not even play for a title

Missouri also has only beaten 1 of the 8 top ten teams it has faced in that span (the one win coming over a #7 ranked UGA team that would finish the season 7-5)

Yes, but while I assume many UGA fans would opt for the Auburn title/title appearance roller coaster over solid seasons without championships, some may not. And more may realize that sometimes there isn't a rebound (Tennessee).
