Top recruiting base, wealthy athletic department, massive fanbase, great tradition/national brand, great facilities, best conference in America

and they haven't won a title since Jimmy Carter. Last Saturday was their time to break out to greatness, and 50k fans leave all at once in the 3rd quarter after 38-3.

If you think we're mediocre, what in the world would that make y'all?

UT fans would be ecstatic with mediocre at this point.

Because UGA knows it is a pretty foolish thing to throw away a coach who can win 10 games with regularity to go chase a NC without having a prime candidate in mind.

I think before long UGA and Richt will likely separate, things get stale, etc. But look at Texas. Just because you're the premier program in a major state doesn't mean you can just plug and play.

Maybe and just maybe they dont want to be UT 2.0 with all the coaching unknowns when you hire someone else

Auburn is their superbowl. Richt has done well against AU overall. Which equates into a lifetime pass.

I think the real question is why did UGA fans accept the family friendly zone for tailgating. Their program is far from mediocre. Just isn't in the uppermost echelon, yet.

The question must be asked, if they get rid of Richt, who are they going to replace him with? He's won 140 football games and a couple of SEC titles. If Georgia gets rid of him they could end up a lot like Tennessee did after they fired Fulmer.

They had his fat, non-union equivalent and fired him in 2008.

I shall quote from the Book of Richt 20:15

quote:

And ye did God look kindly upon his children who had witnessed the glory of the 10 wins season. Tis a marathon, not a sprint, toward the gates of heaven!

I definitely think they'd like to go in a different direction at this point. How he's hasn't gotten it Georgia to national championship after all that talent in 15 years is beyond me.
