Not really caring. If we win out, we'll have wins over MSU, LSU and AU (along with a potential SEC East champ in the SECCG). We already knew we had to win out to get in, and nothing that happened yesterday changes any of that.

There is no conference champion tie in, so based on what we've seen, you certainly do control your own playoff destiny.

If you're guarding against the slim possibility you get left out and heartbroken, I get that, but practically speaking, Bama controls its own destiny.

No, no they're not.

Plus the Playoff Committee likes the HUNH. Alabama got in the top 6 by brand name only. The Playoff Committee has spoken and they said it's time to move away from grandpa football.

That and the fact they like HS coaches.

IMO Alabama does not get in if Ole Miss wins out. The excuse the committee uses should be interesting, because at that point they would have beaten two of the teams on that first Top 4, beaten the team that beat yet another team on the list, and probably will have the top strength of schedule of all the teams still in consideration.

At that point all the excuses they would have will be"conference champs". Which is B.S., but this is what is coming.

With an FSU loss, Alabama could be left off while being the Coaches Poll and AP number one team in the country. And yes we will damn sure claim it.

Sweet then we are good because we average 73 plays a game.

Oregon averages 72, by the way.

allin posted this: Bama controls there own destiny. Win out and they are Probable SEC champs and in the playoffs, lose and they are out.

The first part of it, the part I was referring to, is factually incorrect no matter how you look at it.

If anything Bama is too high right now. Michigan State has basically the same loss and a better win. I don't know how they got such favorable treatment honestly. TCU has a better resume, as do KSU and Baylor.

Bama has the chance to prove they are a top 4 team throughout the rest of the season, as of now they haven't proven much. If they beat MSU/LSU and Auburn, bitch away

Oregon and FSU are shoe-ins. Oregon with a bad loss will still wind up in the championship. Even if FSU gets beat and has 1 loss will still be there. There is bias in this system because of the human factor.

This system is anti-Alabama.

Not really. Even if Ole Miss wins out and wins the division, Bama by beating Auburn, Miss St, and LSU would be in.

MSU beat #15 at home, Alabama beat #20 at a neutral site. MSU lost to #5 on the road by 3 touchdowns, Alabama lost to #4 on the road by 6 with a chance to win the game at the end.

Alabama has wins over (FPI rank)
#27 WVU
#29 Florida
#21 Arkanas
#16 Texas A&M
#33 Tennessee

Michigan State has wins over (FPI rank)
#24 Nebraska
#83 Purdue
#74 Indiana
#51 Michigan

I hope I am wrong but they are not going to end up with 2 SEC West teams. The politicking has already started.

Yea, I can't imagine Alabama finishing the season with wins @ LSU, vs MSU and vs Auburn and finishing outside the Top 4. Unless somehow MSU loses to Arky, Bama and Ole Miss, LSU loses to Arky, Bama and A&M and Auburn loses to Ole Miss, UGA and us and all those wins become meh.

Where do they need to be moved to so your team can make a field goal?

One of these days, people are actually going to start taking what the committee does at face value. Didn't happen after they took two teams from the same division in their mock in August, and it's still not happening with a lot of people after last night.

People need to take off their tin foil hats. Any two SEC West teams that win out will be in the final four. Period.

They deserve to be there if they win out. No doubt.
