Kyler would have been benched after his redshirt year behind Harris.......then benched again once Franks showed up.

He's a great coach.
Very popular in Aggieland.
We'll never be the university who runs a guy out of town for not winning the division three-years-in-a-row.
Rather, we choose to enjoy the ride instead.

Fixed the above for you.

I hope you like the current state of UGA's program, because with that mindset, you are on a similar path. Just without the conference/division titles and while paying your coach a lot more.

Enjoy the ride, gratuitous losses at the hands of the hungry always win out.

Sure--that works too.
Call it whatever mindset you want; Aggies call it laying a foundation.
Bottomline: Coach isn't going to be run-off for not winning the most brutal division in college football within a three-year timeframe.
That's silly.

I don't think anyone is saying he should be fired. But when you are the second highest paid head coach in the best conference in the country - you better build that foundation pretty damn fast. And his won-loss records are trending the wrong way.

GFace, even mild-mannered Texas Aggies have a few hot peppers in the salsa.

Oh, he'll be expected to produce.
But three seasons are hardly enough time to conduct a valid, summative evaluation.
Without a doubt, this conversation will make more sense in a year or two.

Yeah but, according to aggy, Sumlin couldn't win until he got his recruiting machine up and running. I mean, just look at his record at aTm as proof.

Hold on........Something isn't right here.

3 seasons is about the average contract for coaches. I wonder why?

Why do so many care how much he is paid?

I would be fine with increasing his salary to 10 mil just to see people get mad.

I don't have any data on that.
If you do, I'd be interested in reading it.
To answer your question--if true--I have no clue why.
At three years, most coaches haven't even had time to field a squad with their recruits, much less comprehensively integrate their system.

You see, this is the problem. LSU fans already know what you think you have enlightened us with, but A&M fans are still in denial

LSU fans know that Sumlin has put a better product on the field the last three years than Miles? Really? I haven't heard any of you say anything of the sort.

That's because it's untrue
