He pissed off Bama, Texas , and Oklahoma fans that year. That is a "perfect storm" of hatred.

You're delusional if you think that's why people actually "hate" him

The guy has only had 4 or 5 starts! How could you say he looks lost when he hasn't been given a fair shake. Peyton Manning was terrible his first year. Hell, the Raiders gave JaMarcus Russell 3 years as a starter to try and prove himself.

If he wanted that maybe he shouldn't have been a dumbass off the field. NFL teams aren't required to give every player a "fair shake" if they do stupid shite off the field.

Because he has always been tacky on and off the field. Unsportsmanlike. Pretty much any other position on the team can get away with that, but the quarterback is supposed to be the team leader and carry himself with more class. No way I would put my business (NFL team) is this guy's hands.

True, but people on this board wanna say manziel was terrible and lump him in the group with jamarcus Russell and Ryan leaf. There's a big difference to those two guys and Johnny manziel. Manziel is an idiot, but if he got his shite straight, he has the talent to make it in the NFL, there is no doubt about that.

I liked watching JM play in college as long as he wasn't playing Bama. He was a hell of a player, just let it go to his head.

What about aaron Rodgers tacky arse pelvic thrust or the shite cam pulls? Plenty of football players act like jackasses including quarterbacks, and plenty party hard. Look at gronk for crying out loud. Johnny proved at a&m he is good enough to win and act the way he does. I think people are just jealous that he can party all night and still come out the next day and whupp their teams arse.

Same could have been said about Leaf and Russell. Those two had far more NFL QB talent than Manziel does.

And when I say he looked lost, I am referring to things like this:

There's a HUGE difference between Gronk and Manziel. Gronk parties like a rock star in the offseason, but you don't hear a word about him partying during the season. He's all business when it's time for him to be.

You can't be serious saying Russell had more talent than manziel? Look at Johnny's college stats, look at his pro day results, look at his combine numbers. The only thing Russell has on manziel is a stronger arm.

Russell was also built to take the hits that NFL QBs take. Manziel was built like a punter. Remember how often Michael Vick got hurt? It was because his size was not good for his playing style. I have no doubt Manziel would have gone down the same road.

Because he is a douchebag who doesn't know how to carry himself on & off the field. Similar to Cam Newton.

Only difference is Cam won SEC & national title. Plus he's kind of one of the best players in the NFL. D-bag or not, he is light years ahead of JF.

I get that the guy hasn't done hardly anything in the nfl, and his partying is out of control and probably why he isn't on a roster right now, but to say the guy can't play football is ridiculous. He's never truly had a shot in the NFL, having only started a handful of games and was never allowed to be the day 1 starter in Cleveland for an entire season. He's had some bad performances sure, but plenty of good quarterbacks have struggled when they first entered the league, and he'said had some pretty good games as well, even though he was on a terrible team with a coach that seemed to Want him to fail. You can hate Johnny as a person, but to hate him as a football player is absurd.

to tell you the truth I respect him more as a guy than a football player. As a guy, he does what 90% of guys in his position of pulling any tail he wants, has money and fame would do.

As a football player, I'm not sure I have ever seen a guy better at extending a play as he was but as a quarterback he was a joke. I didn't watch him week in and week out so I might be off base a lot but Mike Evans and Swope bailed him out A LOT for what I saw. There were a lot of piss poor decisions that he made on the field that got caught do to his receivers being that good.

Many nfl experts have said that Jamarcus Russell had the most impressive combine of any qb ever there's no comparison in talent. But Johnny had good enough measurables combined with his improvisation skills to be a good qb in the nfl. But Jamarcus was by far more talented.

I wasn't comparing how they performed on the field, just how they acted.

Well, since you edited, I'll edit my response. I do not hate JFF as a player.

"Never had a shot in the NFL, never allowed to be the day 1 starter"? It might have helped him a bit if he knew the fricking play book. He seldom watched film, missed meettings after meetings but yea, not knowing the plays ...hurt. Your the type of person who's hurt him all his life, giving him excuse after excuse when he falls flat on his face because of his own lack of discipline. Hate him? Nope. Don't waste energy on someone who does not care about himself.
