Well that is what we are trying to say, our d, was not as good as in the past and the team overachieved for its talent

What was the average recruiting score for the D this year?

I'll sit back and wait.

Dude you are like exhibit A on constantly trolling LSU, acting like you have anything to do with Bama success.

Appreciate it. Been a long time coming.

Hopefully they take care of business next week so it wasn't for nothing.

Because they didn't win the championship.

It's pretty funny reading their spin and bullshite, but no use calling them out on it because now they believe what they are saying.

Good luck against the Ducks! I think it is their year but OSU will be in thick of it for the coming years. Hopefully we get a rematch soon!

Anytime Bama doesn't win the National Title, they have underachieved. That's a pretty high bar, but I can deal with it. So Bama actually underachieved, y'all. And only has an SEC title to show for it.

I agree. My first thought when the Rose Bowl ended was that it might not matter who won the Sugar Bowl. Oregon looked good out there. Tough matchup for sure.

I do think Urban Meyer has this team right at the edge of being elite for years. It felt like next year would be the year, even before the season started. Right now, it really depends on how we replace Tom Herman.

I'm hoping for a rematch next year. This one was fun and top 3 on my list.

MSU doesn't matter enough to try to "deflect" from an Alabama loss….

Bama loses, that 3rd string QB would start for all SEC teams. Wait it out another game then we'll see if your D blows as bad as it looked or if he's that good.
You dumb bastard, I was responding to the "declining" post, not the thread topic...I can tell that this stuff is intellectually challenging to you, but try to follow along...OK?

This is by the far the most comical rationalization I've seen for Bama. They have the most talent in the country, the best coach in the country and pump more resources into their program than any other school in the country. Nothing they could possibly do right now would be overachieving.

Maybe those 5 stars were overrated as frick just because they signed with Bama

Maybe our coaching staff is overrated as frick and doesn't give two shites anymore after 3 out of 4

Maybe a team can't win the natty every single season

Maybe everyone in this thread including me can go frick themselves :dunno:

If the team met or surpassed your individual expectations then they overachieved in your eyes. Since I predicted 3 regular season losses (as most would have after A Day), this team surpassed my expectations. I knew early on this wasn't a national championship caliber team.

I guess the sidewalk fans who expect national titles every year would be disappointed.

B/C we knew we didn't match up to previous teams.
New quarterback, suspect OL, suspect pass rushing, etc, etc.
Great team chemistry, but too many great recruits that had not stepped up. not to mention plaguing injuries. We expected LSU and Auburn to be good...they weren't.
I don't know any real Alabama fan who predicted less than 2 regular season losses.

This. Reminded me of us playing Miami in NOLA.
EVERYBODY, including most Bama fans thought we would get stomped.

SEC titles are meaningless to bama fans. It's national titles or the season is a failure. That's what I remember.

May be, but the name SEC Rant implies a forum for all SEC fans...right?

That doesn't address my point (since you cut out half the post) but its pretty obvious why LSU is the focus here. We haven't won a championship since 2007 and yet we are the focus of 75% of the posts on the SEC Rant.

This never occurred to your tiny Bama brain?
