the way ole miss has been for the most of the last 20 years since Peyton was coming up you'd think this has been the case all along

Considering Ole Miss has been mostly irrelevant for 50 years why would he have chosen the Webels?

Peyton is all about winning and he surely knew that one player wasn't going to turnaround their sagging fortunes.

Regardless, who gives a flying black bear's arse?

Then why would Eli choose us? Or any recruit for that matter? Peyton didn't come to OM because of probation and Cooper's injury as been stated multiple times. Yet another LSU dumbass

Because Ole Miss was about to get hit with the worst probation since SMU at the time of his recruitment,

Sounds legit.

The University of Mississippi football program was placed on four years' probation and its scholarships were cut in half yesterday in what the NCAA called "one of the most serious cases" heard recently.

The Rebels will not be allowed to play postseason games in 1995 and 1996 and cannot appear on television in 1995.

It's the second time in less than a decade that the Ole Miss football team will serve probation.

In the latest case, Ole Miss was charged with a lack of institutional control over the football program, including allegations that recruits were offered cash and cars. The NCAA said the charges were similar to those in a 1986 case that led to two years' probation.

I wouldn't watch that shitty movie with Sandra B. either.

You missed this awesome scene where Tim McGraw talks about how much the Egg Bowl means to him and how State's stadium got its nickname.

You really ought to watch the movie sometime.

One never can tell...

I was actually just providing more context to support that the probation angle was a pretty damn legit angle. My alma mater sucked balls in '94 so I had forgotten entirely what happened to Ole Miss back then.

It truly was bad. It was hurting us well after it was over.

I like to see Ole Miss just good enough to keep the games competitive. Last year was a good game. I don't ever want to see y'all go the way of Tulane. We just need another Manning (or Mississippi's JFF?) to kick start the rivalry again. It's too bad Peyton didn't end up at Ole Miss. Would've been fun to watch. I certainly enjoyed watching Eli's final game against LSU.

Honestly we are going to find out first game what this years team is made of. Our schedule early is tough. If we can go 2-2 in the road games I'll be happy.
