You can laugh but an Aggie didn't do that. Even without the official denial it was obvious for two reasons:

1. Calling our cult the "Aggie Nation" is a sure way to get kicked out. There is a reason we slap 12th Man on everything. Seriously we will take their ring if someone does that, even grabbing your nuts on TV is OK compared to "Aggie Nation."

2. No Aggie would brag about how clean our program is, as most remember the bowl ban year. Us being cheaters was a favorite talking point in the Big 12, so whoever did pay for that must have thought they were being very clever.

You won't believe it, but you like to collect data on teams so add that to your pile. Honestly for us this isn't the low hanging fruit, we do much more embarrassing things on purpose.

Because you are a good guy so your brain wouldn't let you execute the best troll in your post without some flaw.

Its probably something to be proud of, that you aren't a shithead like most of us.

Because they are desperate to get Saban coaching tree hires. Dumb way to go about rebuilding their football program, but that is what they decided to do once again.

Do not care about former Bama coordinators. I just don't understand how this guy is the head coach at the University of Florida. I expected a big hire and lots of excitement from them.

Glad they did hire him though, it basically gave Auburn several recruits.

Who was really available and exciting in your little world?

Gladly trade a couple of recruits to get rid of the failure that was one Will "Gag" Muschamp.

He probably was the best available. I think he could get it done, but how patient will Florida be as they struggle through a few really bad seasons as Tenn improves and GA looks strong?

Only Michigan made a better hire on paper, even though I would argue Oregon State's hire was a bigger splash.

Because they were too smart to hire a 5-19 loser.

Don't even know who Oregon State hired. Not too much of a splash.

Oregon St. stole a coach from another Power 5 program. And not just any Power 5 program, but one that has been successful recently beyond what that coach did.

I am not saying Anderson will be a better coach, in fact right now I will say his record will be worse almost no matter what as he shares a state/division with Nike U. But hiring a coach from a successful Power 5 program is a bigger splash than from any non-Power 5 program not named Boise St.

To be fair, there was only one real "splash" hire last year in college football. What I am talking about is basically what bump was bigger on a dog's arse in comparison.

I am an outsider (non SEC homer) and I just don't see this McElwain guy getting Florida back to the top right now. Not seeing it yet. Might be a good while.

It is so hard to keep winning at an elite level after you go through a dominate period like Florida did with Urban. It is so hard.

And that ancient loser Nebraska hired on the cheap is a better hire? Really?

Jesus Nebraska took someone's coach and then that program UPGRADED. Like Nebraska did them a favor or something.

I would ban bet right now (if I could) that McElwain will have a higher-ranked recruiting class than Nebraska has the next five years.

I have a theory about that. I'm a great speller and my grammar is good when I write papers but online I'm prone to word substitutions like that. However, it never happens when I'm writing formal papers -- just online.

So my theory is the following: when we talk to each other online our brain engages our speech center as though we were actually speaking rather than writing so it's easy for 'one' to become 'won' because in the spoken word it doesn't matter. If we didn't think we were talking to humans on the other end of these boxes the same as when we talk into our phones we'd probably be less likely to make errors like that because we'd be engaging a different task (straight up formal writing as we'd been taught in school).

Another way to look at it is the fact that of the three head coaches he hired prior to McElwain two of them were duds and the third burned out/quit.

Two of them were duds, and yet they still averaged nearly 8 wins per year. Muschamp was the worst UF coach in over 50 years and even he managed to nearly get us into a national championship game. We'll see what McElwain can do, but so far he looks a lot more like Meyer than he does Zook.

And he beat our best player/team in 50 years. I know, I know.
