Because hiring an elite, established coach rarely ever happens... the circumstances have to be near perfect to pull it off.

UFs greatest coaches came for Duke and Utah... Colorado St fits right in with that (granted JM doesn't have near the resume at this point as either SS or UM).

I always have the same pattern in UF threads. I roll in with my usual troll levels because this is the Rant, but then yall turn it into decent/logical human being zone and I feel bad for what is otherwise the status quo. We trade posts, and then I self-immolate as a way of saying sorry for how the thread starts.

I don't know what my fricking problem is, there is no reason to troll UF fans. Yall give up almost every piece of info without deflection, and yall are willing to admit faults. Some of yall even like to play referee in the other mud fight threads.

I wish we had ANOTHER rant forum for actually talking like adults about sports sometimes. Like the SEC Network alternate channel.

Guess he's still a bit rustled that the Drischamp Connection beat their best player ever in College Station and kept them from winning the West.

Do not care about former Bama coordinators. I just don't understand how this guy is the head coach at the University of Florida. I expected a big hire and lots of excitement from them.

Glad they did hire him though, it basically gave Auburn several recruits.

That's fine, but you called him a horse faced loser. That just seems childish to me considering he has been very successful in his time as a college coordinator and head coach. More successful even than Malzahn prior to being hired as the head coach at Auburn.

They wanted an offensive first coach, and he's that.

There were also no other bigger names available.

He has experience in high level SEC play and has shown some success as a head coach.

So he fits the bill. He could do great, or terrible, or somewhere in between.

There are only 5 or 6 homerun surefire coaches in college football anyway.
