Watching you spin this is like watching Arky fans try to explain why they like Bert.

cool, but I would still like to know if Ford was allowed to play this season on a herniated disc and if so, why? If it cost him a NFL shot, I feel bad for him, even if he ran his mouth at Clowney and couldn't back it up.

Why does the guy who actually produced have to back it up now?

He was pretty important. He had 10.5 sacks in 12 games.

some guys just like to play regardless of injury...

i dont like to bring players into petty arguments but yes Ford missed the first two games (not sure if it was related to that injury) but he still played the rest of the season. Why did Clowney miss two games?

I would like some Spurrier quotes included in threads like this. What did he say early in the season regarding Clowney?

I understand it took him 5 years to develop into even a remotely useful SEC DL, and his career has been filled with injuries b/c he's high-risk for re-injury....

However, this is the NFL Combine, it's a big deal to even get an invite, this kid was the Pre Combine Champion and told everyone he is better than Clowney....

...and now his arse quit?!?! Aubies, what gives? Has he always had this poor of a work eithic or is he just unstable?

Well to start with, much like Groves, he's not a DL at the NFL level. He's a LB playing out of position at the college level.

The reason for not working out is pretty lame, having said that, he's still having a better day looks like than Clowney.

He could, and should have gone out there and showed why teams should consider him, as an injury from 2 years ago they just discovered apparently looks mighty weak.

We sat him and many other starters for the Coastal game, b/c it was Coastal and we still beat them by 60 pts.

The other game the trainer didn't clear him to play, earlier in the season, so he had to sit out. Spurrier wondered what was up, then the trainer explained why he kept him out, so Spurrier retracted.

No.

He will be a specialist edge rusher in the NFL like Bruce Irvin who was taken in the frist round last year.

How so, Clowney is a Top Performer on several drills, the only thing Ford ran was his mouth?

Dee Ford is what happens when you have a High School coach coaching you in college .

I think you're becoming delusional due to the trials of trying to defend Clowney's work ethic.

Groves = as fast, if not faster
Groves = stronger..much stronger

Where's Groves been playing in the NFL?

Ford is doomed if a lineman gets his hands on him, NFL linemen WILL get their hands on him a whole lot more often than not.
