There is a big time intangible value that having a network like CBS brings.

frick CBS. They got the best deal in sports for a decade, then refused to offer the worth of the new SEC deal, then overpaid for the Big 10.

Have you ever heard of Ohio State??

Yes, and in the 8 seasons that the playoffs have been in effect they have made the finals exactly two times. So has Georgia. No other B1G team has made the finals.

Care to guess how many SEC teams have made the finals? That would add a whole lot of eyeballs.

Gonna be hilarious when the ratings come in and the networks realize how badly they overpaid for shitty second class B1G football. We will pummel them in the ratings, like we always do.
