Why did 20% of UGA's outgoing transfers end up at Purdue?

Interesting question. UGA had 20 outgoing transfers. FOUR end up going to Purdue. I guess when they send UGA recruiting staff out to buy free drinks with players they like to serve up BoilerMakers....

I don't know but CJ Smith and Nyland Green are really good players. Glad they didn't stay in the SEC

Smart move by Purdue.
They don't recruit at a high level so their staff probably figure that any players recruited by Georgia would be an upgrade for Purdue.

CJ Smith is definitely an NFL WR. I had HIGH hopes for him this year. Sucks he left. I think the staff may feel Evans has more upside…

West Lafayette is a pretty cool college town. Indiana sucks as a whole and has brutal winters, but Purdue is a traditional university environment

That one was a headscratcher for me too. Maybe he didn't like it at UGA

Kurt Cignetti, a former Bama assistant, is coaching there. He coached WRs and was recruiting coordinator while Smart was DC.

I'm guessing they all became close at Georgia and decided they should be a package deal and go someplace where they would be able to step in immediately and play.

ETA...didn't Georgia lose 3 players to Nebraska in the 2023 portal. That one seems kind of odd, as well.

One of my fellow scoutmasters out here got his degree from Purdue. Former Eagle Scout and very knowledgeable in the outdoors...

Kurt Cignetti is the head coach at Indiana, not Purdue. I know they are both the same from our perspective lol

I had to go to Purdue on a business trip last year. I have no idea why anyone would want to go there. They had undoubtably the ugliest women and the worst food in any college-town I have ever been in. Not a lot of redeeming qualities about that place at all.

I know a guy who got his PhD from there. He served as the President of The American Society of Mass Spectrometry. He's a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at Purdue, now. He is absolutely the smartest person I have ever spoken to.

My neighbor's son goes to school there and studying to be a pilot.Very bright kid.

Pretty much a STEM school and not sure if they have others majors for athletes.

It's a great school.

The co-workers I have from Purdue are very intelligent, just as smart as the GTU grads, and have immensely better social skills.
