I think it would be funny as shite to see the smugness washed off the faces of the Gumps.
I've got a dozen or so family members that are loud, vocal Bama fans. They have been unbearable since little Nicky showed up in Tuscaloosa. I personally would like nothing more than to watch them squirm in his absence.

That said, it would also be interesting to see the reactions of the Aggies. They've been so dickhurt about Texas for so long, and now they finally have something to brag about.
Saban jumping to Texas would surely rustle some Aggie jimmies.

So we could watch Bama fans get a little karma.

this is probably true, but I also think many (not all) LSU fans forget that Saban didn't leave LSU for Bama, he left to take a shot at the NFL

Texas with Saban would pull twice as many. Carefull what you wish for.

So Texas is able to sign an unlimited number of players? Look, Saban at Texas would be formidable, and there is no doubt that he could pull some kids that may otherwise go to LSU, but's let's not lose all sight of numbers and make ridiculous statements. I understand that even the remote possibility that he would leave makes Bama fans piss their pants and question the existence of God, but let's keep our eye on the ball.

Know how I know you don't follow recruiting? Saban wouldn't really have to leave his own state to recruit.

Don't agree with this. His recruiting base in Texas offers way, way more to choose from than Alabama. He wouldn't necessarily need to cherry pick from other states as much.

This. Just go look at the number of in state recruits verbally committed to Alabama this year. At Texas, most will come from in the state. And even then, UT can't get them all.

This is mathematically impossible.

Would you want to sit on your porch and see your ex-wife in a bigger house with a guy who is more successful than you. Would you want to see that every day?

How is this mathematically impossible??
Right now he pulls let's say an average of 1 to 2 players from Louisiana to Bama every year.

Why is it mathematically impossible for him to pull 2 to 4 players to texas?

Not exactly sure why Bama fans seem to think that if Saban were to leave that Bama would still get the same recruits away from LSU while Saban at Texas would still pull recruits away as well. Saban is the reason Bama are getting said recruits and if he leaves, so do those recruits. Period

This + no one wants to see the ex-wife's guy plastered all over magazine covers, spotlights on 60 Minutes, on the cover of Forbes, etc. And who wants to hear damn near every sports analyst mention the guy's name nonstop?

Didn't Auburn come in a few years ago and take two highly ranked players from Louisiana (from Thibodeaux of all places)?
Was Saban recruiting for Auburn at that time??

They will still come in and get one or two players every year, remember not every person born in Louisiana wants to play for LSU. Some of them want to get out, and as long as Bama maintains some sort of success it's gonna be an option

And lets pretend that no other recruit will go to Alabama if Saban left. LSU still loses out on the texas pipeline that it's benefited from.

Sure Saban won't be able to sing every recruit in texas, but he'll most likely get the ones he wants, then LSU and A&M can have his leftovers

So? What exactly are you trying to say? LSU fans should not want a weakened Bama? Saban going to Texas would only weaken LSU and not Bama? What?

So some LSU posters on a random internet message board somehow = the entire LSU fan base ?????
And how on earth do you get inside their heads to read their minds about Saban?

FWIW, internet posters of many other schools are saying the same thing, not just some LSU fans on this board.
