Les was 28-21 and Okie St, so I have confidence the next guy has at least a 50% chance or better to keep the ball rolling at least as well

He worked out, but it doesn't mean the next guy will. I understand the optimism though. LSU has some natural advantages few programs can match or better.

Here is a post from another poster that sums up the people like me perfectly, and I do not think it is delusional. Anyone calling for a firing is delusional though:

I fall into the camp relative to Miles that he frustrates me to no end at times, but I fully respect his recruiting and ability to win (relatively speaking) over an extended period of time like no other coach at LSU.

I also realize that perception of Miles would be different if Saban had not come back to Alabama. LSU likely would have another national title under Miles and maybe another SEC title or two as well.

That said, I feel like both LSU and Miles could use a re-birth. Sometimes you have to tear something down for the greater good.

Miles is aging and I do not foresee him getting better with age. To the contrary, I think things may get worse. At the moment, since 2011, LSU seems to be treading water - not getting better for sure, not get much worse.

People have a tendency to get complacent, even when they don't want to or ever realize it. I think Miles is complacent and aging at the moment. That combo does not bode well for LSU.

As such, I for one, am willing to roll the dice and hope that he leaves for Michigan. In so doing, I recognize and accept that things could get much worse. I am okay with that prospect, for there is also the hope for something better as well. I think LSU needs a change of pace, direction and heart. I can live with the results, either way because I do not think Les Miles can or will win another national championship here. I think someone else could

Umm, actually Rick wanted to come back to UK, but Tubby was actually rolling at the time. Also, I don't recall Saban calling LSU his "Camelot". And claiming he should never had left it.

Take the boooooom and smoke it in your pipe.

It is simple, Rick left UK but never left Lousiville. Also, Saban regretted leaving LSU, and knew he made a mistake going to the Pros. However, we were rolling shop as well when he looked to come back. If you dont think I boomed your quote you are mistaken. I used the exact same scenario against you. THE. EXACT. SAME

WTF does Rick not leaving UL has to do with this conversation?

Ask yourself. You referenced Bama being greater then LSU because Saban left LSU and not Bama. Well, then clearly you beleive Lousiville is greater then UK because Pitino left Uk but not Lousiville

I dont believe this, you do. Saying a coach "left" a program when he goes to the pros is idiotic

It just seems like things have gotten stale. I've always been a Miles supporter but maybe it is time for Les and LSU to part ways.

This is kind of where I am. As crazy as it sounds, I don't really care one way or the other. If Les stays, LSU will be fine, at least in the short run. If Les leaves, LSU will be fine, at least in the long run.

Here's the deal. Rick would crawl back on his knees when he was shite canned with Boston if the Kentucky job was open. I don't think Saban would do the same for the LSU job when he left Miami

Also could you link where Saban is quoted that he regrets leaving LSU. Thanks.

it's going to be fun either way- they are so divided on him that whether he stays or goes there should be some good

Actually only divided on message boards. The reality is that most football fans don't partake in message boards and LSU fans are no exception. The vast majority of Tiger fans hope to keep Les until he retires.

This is wrong. I think over 50% are ready for a change. Now the mouthbreathers who want him fired are idiots, but from my interactions I think more people would like to see a change

You mean one like this, that shows how much Pitino loves UK

“I think I do regret leaving Kentucky because I took over a team with 15 wins banking everything on the Tim Duncan lottery, and once we didn't get Tim Duncan I realized that leaving Kentucky was not a good move"

So if he got Duncan and won UK would have just been a pile of horse shite racing town

ETA: I like UK and Lexington. But you have been a DELUSIONAL hypocrite in this thread

No, I cant. Can you link again where Pitino stayed at UK but left Louisville? thanks, cause remember Bama>LSU because of:
quote:

We all know Nick Saban left LSU for another gig. We know that Nick Saban did not leave Bama for another gig. I'm sorry

So ipso facto Louisville>UK because

quote:

Rick Pitino left UK for another gig. We know that Rick Pitino did not leave Lousiville for another gig. Im sorry
Just admit you used a shitty example that came back to bite you in the arse

It all goes back to his first game on that Monday night in 2005 after all of the hurricanes. He had Tennessee on the ropes at half time and he let up in the second half and allowed Tennessee back in it after being up by 21 points... a lot of people have thought since then that he does not have the killer instinct. This despite having stellar years in 2006,2007 and 2011 .

Apparently, 103 wins in 10 years is not good enough when historically LSU averaged about 75 wins every 10 years.

So we are clear, we don't know if Saban really regrets leaving LSU?

But, you have showed quotes that Rick regrets leaving UK.

quote:

I love Kentucky. My eight years there were Camelot. I got nothing ever negative to say about them or their program. I love Louisville. I want us to be successful.

Thanks

Oh, I think Les stays at LSU.
