not that I have a list but you gave the Heisman trophy a 10?

Funny that you think this is a legit argument. I've seen years in which the Heisman winner wasn't in the top ten at his position (Miami QBs)

Lattimore was scary good.
Gurley is the same type of back.

I'd say it was a toss up of these 2.

Lattimore.

And Gurley is an exceptional back, as well. My #2.

I really liked Michael Dyer and Knile Davis. Probably round out my top 5 w/ a Bama back or Stevan Ridley.

Underrated: Zac Stacy

Lattimore was really good, but he wasn't very explosive. More of a power back, which isn't a bad thing really. Richardson ran behind one of the best offensive lines in history, and often got to the second level before much contact was made. I'd probably go with Gurley.

Is that the 2nd you're looking for...I mean it's a version of "second" or "2nd" or some shite. 2nd......2nd....2nd.

This was Gurley's first year (TRUE FRESHMAN)

1385 yards, 17 TDs
117 yards

Total 1502 yards, 17 TDs

In 10 games in Gurley's second year, he had

989 yards, 10 TDs
441 yards, 6 TDs

Total 1440 yards, 16 TDs

This was Lattimore's first year (TRUE FRESHMAN)

1197 yards, 17 TDs
412 yards, 2 TDs

Total 1609 yards, 19 TDs

In 7 games in Lattimore's second year, he had

818 yards, 10 TDs
181 yards 1 TD

Total 1000 yards, 11 TDs

Take in just their two starting years where both were injured at least more than three games, they dominated the stat sheet. Looking at what type of runner they were, they pushed people. Also, Trent Richardson falls into this category as well. While he didn't get the starting job off the bat, he was great in relief and dominated his first starting year. Lacy also dominated in this way and actually did more with less compared to the others.

Best is hard but I have those top two as even, then Richardson, Lacy, and finally Mason and Hill are right below because of sample size. Gurley can beat them all out with a dominate performance next year though.

I understand everyone likes Lattimore, he's an awesome guy. But no way is he the best. This board tends to overrate him.

ETA: I also think Dyer was overrated.

no. He played behind bad olines and still put up great stats.

Go back and watch some of his games. Hes often hit at or behind the line of scrimmage and still manages to turn it into a positive gain. 2010 Lattimore highlights

The 2010 UGA game particularly displays his ability to do this. Every Lattimore carry vs. UGA 2010

I wouldn't trade Jeremy hill for any other back listed in these threads.

Durable, strong, explosive, consistent, versatile.

Ppl would think more positively about his play w/o the off the field issues.

Best? Lattimore, no doubt. Gurley would probably be #2. And Ingram, really? Anthony Dixon was better, and he played with a much, much worse offensive line. I'm not saying he should win by any means, but he is a lot more deserving than a ton of the backs mentioned here.

Had great speed but struggled with vision. If he got outside it was a wrap. I really enjoyed his 1 year. Probably would have been really good. :(
