BYU is going 1-1. Who that loss is to is up for judgment

Yet LSU still somehow was able to give up the fewest TDs in all of college football last year.

Go figure.

I did some figuring. I found that LSU gave up 16 TDs in but 12 games. I found that Bama gave up but 15 TDs in 13 games. And I figured you would have given up a left nut to have had LSU playing in the additional two games that Bama gave up the additional 6 TDs.

No they don't. In all of college football, Amherst gave up the fewest TDs. Nevermind they played but 8 games because the point has already been made that it is easier to give up fewer TDs when you play fewer games.

From a fan's standpoint msu easily gets the win because it gets a new team in its home stadium while lsu has to travel to play same team

The BYU-LSU game will be interesting to watch. The key will be LSU's inexperienced, undersized and suspect front seven vs BYU's OL composed of huge 27-year old mean grown men.

Overstated, but not totally wrong. LSU's linebackers are relatively young, but White and Divinity played a lot last year. Alexander is undersized, but he has added weight. Plus we return sixth year senior Thompson to back up Divinity, and we add two very talented freshmen in Phillips and Taylor who will play a lot from game 1.

But the point about BYU's offensive line is correct. I tracked down this Athlon article:

quote:

The offensive line has the potential to be the Cougars’ best since becoming an independent in 2011. The roster boasts 15 scholarship athletes along the offensive line, which is music to Sitake’s ears. Last year, BYU only had seven offensive linemen during the spring, which impacted not only what Sitake and his staff were able to do but also how they approached the spring game. Numbers shouldn’t be a problem this year.

BYU Spring Preview

But if you read the article, you will also learn that BYU lost most of its offensive production from last year's 9-win team. QB, RB, three WRs... these guys accounting for like 90% of their yards and points last year.

So, BYU will have its own issues to deal with, especially with a new QB and new WRs. I would hate to try and work those issues out against LSU's secondary. I don't even care if their offensive coordinator won the Heisman.

Donte Jackson, Kevin Toliver, Saivion Smith, John Battle, Ed Paris, Eric Monroe, Xavier Lewis, Cam Lewis, Kristian Fulton, Greedy Williams, Jacoby Stevens, Grant Delpit, Kary Vincent, Todd Harris.

LSU has DBs for days. LSU is DBU. Good luck BYU.

My comment about fewest TDs allowed was in reference to PER GAME AVG. Sorry if that led to any confusion.

Most likely
LSU 2-0
State 1-1
BYU 0-2

Possible but not likely
State 2-0
LSU 1-1
BYU 0-2

Slim chance but possible because you never know
BYU 2-0
State/LSU 1-1/0-2 or vice versa

I see, if that is the case why does changing the "CEO" help?

Are people really this stupid? Did you not see a difference with the team after O took over? You can cite what he did many years ago or look at what he is doing now at LSU. He has made a commitment to change the offense, and kept one of the Best D coordinators in the game of college football.
He is not the BIG name guy many wanted or hoped for but he has upgraded the coaching staff and lets them do what needs to be done, and has a butt load of young talent on the roster and will keep them coming in.

The split may well be a three way tie at 1-1

If LSU goes 1-1 vs. BYU and MSU, then obviously we aren't going to beat Alabama, Auburn, Florida or Tennessee either. So that would be at least five losses. You predicting five losses for LSU this year? I'm not saying it can't happen, but that would definitely be a surprising prediction.

LSU cannot shore up their defense,

We are actually getting a dline starter back that was hurt last year. I think we are fine there.

I'm more worried about replacing Adams and white in the secondary. I don't think any of the current dbs are on their level yet.
