He will be the starter after spending his entire career minus one year in Gus' offense coached by either him or his disciple.

You would be right if it wasn't for that pesky little thing Bert said about not running the same offense he did at Wisky

Your claims are still invalid as he never said it was balanced in terms of play calling, he talks about balance in terms of yardage 200 passing 200 rushing is the example he most often gives.

Rather have a high school system and win then a "professional" system and get the shite beaten out of you every week.

Of course if you run the ball 3 times out of 4, the yardage is gonna be closer to 50%. That doesn't make it any less of a drastic change than what you're coming from. Compare passes to rushes, passing yards to rushing yards, etc...it's still completely backwards from what Arky is coming from.
So you wanna be 50%/50% in yardage. Congratulations, you were 69% passing yards/31% rushing yards in 2011.

Auburn has a better coach and more talent. Arky will be real bad.

Has Chainey come anywhere close to that as an OC?

My money's on the kid in the wheel chair. That kid on crutches is too easy to knock over.

What's gonna be interesting to me is how Arkansas balance's Beilema's run-heavy style with Chainey's pass-heavy style... neither one seems comfortable with the other's game, but we'll see how it plays out. Tennessee would abandon the run very quickly, and weren't committed to it at all. Chainey was also stripped of his QB-coaching duties this past season, I believe.
Do you guys not think that coaches can adapt to their personnel? Tennessee had Bray, Hunter, Patterson and a good TE. Of course they would pass it more. Bielema had a great offensive line and RBs his entire time there so they ran it more. When he had russell wilson he used him.
I doubt BB would go to hawaii or texas tech and try to run the ball as much as he did at UW

That is the end goal that the recruiting is being put into place for down the road.
All Chaney and Bert talk about for this season is calling plays and running the offense that best fits the players. They will be passing to set up the run, in the future it will be run to set up the pass.
Petrino passed to set up the run.

That's why it's interesting to see how it plays out... bringing two styles (run heavy vs. pass heavy) of offense together... and BB's background is defense... he probably doesn't have as much input in playcalling as some might think. Chryst was an outstanding playcaller at Wisconsin.

He actually drastically cut both his rushing and passing attempts. But hey, he did manage to get Russell 3 catches. Tricky guy.

His teams actually moved more towards the pass than when he was there as a DC for Alvarez (or Alvarez's teams before).
Also of note, teams tend to run the ball when they are blowing out opponents, something Bert's team did somewhat frequently...

That's why I think Arkansas could really struggle this year to move the ball... It will come down to Allen's development.

So Wisconsin was a somewhat balanced passing team until Bert became coach. And as soon as he did, they went the other way?
And he is gonna ma.....frick it! Have fun!
