Honestly Baker Mayfield's stats are better than Jackson's to me.

Honestly he has a chance to steal it over the next week. No championship game hurts him this year. Big showing next 2 weeks and all eyes on champ weekend would have given a him a chance.

Well I guess he does have a chance for eyes on the 3rd but it's more a psuedo championship game.

Yes, Jackson's numbers as a runner are eye popping. HUGE advantage over Mayfield there, but I honestly think Mayfield's passing numbers have the bigger edge. He is WAY more efficient AND played better against a common opponent in Houston.

But again, to be fair to Jackson, he was running for his life against Houston. He had no shot.

I agree though, the only guy who can catch Jackson is Mayfield. Jackson would have to have a mediocre turnover filled game against Kentucky and Mayfield would have to show out against West Virginia and Oklahoma State.

Both are possible.

Mayfield should be given consideration.

Mayfield is a douche, though, which has to be figured into the equation.

Mayfield claims they should have won against Clemson last year. What game was he watching?

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER NEVER NEVER NEVER INCLUDE A BIG 12 DUDE IN THE HEISMAN

Super inflated stats because of this garbage offense no defense that everyone plays

IMO, even after the choke last night, Jackson still has it. Only one I see coming close is Mahomes. If Louisville rips through UK like they should, it's a lock for him.

Peppers is a product of ESPN hype like Teo was.

As a LB, he's never had double digit tackles in a single game, he has 0 INTs, and he has 1 PR TD.

There's nothing Heisman about him other than UM playing him at different positions.

I don't quite understand how all of a sudden Lamar Jackson is done because his team got killed last night. He had 240 total yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs and was running for his life on EVERY snap.

I didn't think he played badly at all, really.

He's not done by any stretch of the imagination, but he can ill-afford another game like that one if he is to remain a virtual lock for the trophy. 240 total yards isn't really all that impressive for a Heisman candidate QB, especially since his performance against the toughest opponent on their schedule wasn't really much better. Not saying that a mediocre performance against UK would cost him the trophy, but I'd say it would have a real impact on his chances.

I doubt UK will shut him down, but you never know.

I wholeheartedly agree. He's not done anything to warrant being a Heisman favorite in my book.
He's played a few different positions--so what? Glad someone else thinks he's been built up by ESPN & not actual gameplay

Peppers should win, but I think it's still Jackson's to lose. Maybe last night changed that though. Tbh Allen and Peppers are the most deserving imo.

Jabrill Peppers

-Averages just over 5 tackles per game
-Has 4 sacks on the year
-Has zero interceptions
-Has zero recovered fumbles
-Has one return touchdown
-Has 3 touchdowns from scrimmage on 315 total yards

There isnt a more overrated player I can remember

I'd say Jackson, but I'd be curious in contrast to SOS.

7.0 sacks. Not sure where that ranks. Mostly a highlight reel. Two defensive touchdowns.
