I think Muschamp is as ready to take over a major program as Stoops was at OK. Will's got strong recruiting ties from TX to the Atlantic. I think he would be on the short list along with some guys like Holtz and Kelly.

Chris Peterson (44), Boise St -- 13-0 first season (upset of Oklahoma in the Fiesta), 10-3 second season, 2-0 this season (including upset of Oregon on the road).

Bronco Mendenhall (42), BYU -- 6-6, 11-2, 11-2. Now 4-0. 2-1 in bowl games.

Oklahoma has a great D, right? One on the level of SEC Ds, right?
id say so

Leach's Texas Tech is 2-1 vs. Stoop's Oklahoma
OU's loss was when they lost bradford. i wouldnt consider OU's 06 and 05 overly strong, either

TT put up 476 yards, 518 yards, and 369 yards on the Texas D.
i mean i cant defend anyone against those numbers-- but with all those yards/points they still lost-- i guess my main point was hes not an upgrade over fulmer. i mean tenn has won the (vaunted)east 3 times this decade... not exactly slouches. some programs need to be careful what they wish for, karma has a funny sense of humor when you run off coaches b/c they didnt win enough. see: nebraska

What does Fulmer's contract situation look like? I thought I had read that he had been given a 7 year extension recently. If that is true, Tenn is stuck with him for a while.

As long as he doesn't win 8 games they can fire him. It's in his contract that if he wins 8 they can't touch him.

I hear Ed Orgeron is free

Boise has actually turned out some good coaches lately. Dan Hawkins has done a really good job turning around Colorado. I've heard a number of people say they think Peterson will try to hold out for the Oregon job, where he was previously a assistant

Tennessee can't get rid of Fulmer until he decides he is ready to step down. Phat frick has way to much dirt on Tenn for them to fire him and he has no loyalty. If they tried to fire fat boy he would call the NCAA and they would go on probation immediately.

Hawkins did well at Boise State, but he hasn't show much progess at Colorado yet.

Before Hawkins got there, Colorado went 5-7, 8-5 (Houston Bowl), 7-6 (Champs Sports Bowl). After Hawkins took over, Colorado has been 2-10 and 6-7 (Indy Bowl). They are 3-0 this year.

Also, I wonder how much of his success at Boise St can be attributed to him, being that the current very successful Boise State coach, Chris Peterson was the offensive coordinator during the whole time he was there.

I saw a documentary on Boise State football that had a bunch of interviews with Hawkins and Peterson where they shared their philosophy on coaching and football. Hawkins sounded like a guy who had absolutely no idea what he was talking about while Peterson was very impressive.

I have been relegated to Shreveport, you dumb son of a bitch, I'm not a native of it. I don't like it all that much and I'm waiting to get out.

I do know that your fake arse has an unhealthy hate for Shreveport and brings it up every other day.
