According to you before the season started, you thought Cal was one of the worst.

I think it's safe to say we should anchor this pathetic thread on that note

Avery Johnson's identity is getting fired from 3 NBA jobs and setting out for 3 years because nobody wanted to hire him.

This sentence says a lot. I think Bama fans are excited because they hired somebody they had actually heard of on TV, and that is it.

Nailed it

Also the fired from 3 NBA jobs. 100% on the money factual. Really says a lot.

JJ made the NCAAT as a 9 seed, Mike Anderson didn't even make the NCAAT.

Therefore JJ is ahead of where Mike Anderson was at the same point.

Really don't see how JJ is the worst coach in the SEC. He has had some visible late game blunders and LSU loses games it shouldn't, but he signs talented players and they were a 9 seed in year 3. They have progressively gotten better.

He reminds me a lot of Alabama-era (until the end of things when he stopped recruiting players and started recruiting college girls) Mark Gottfried, to be honest. You could do a whole lot worse.

LSU sports catch a lot of shite on here just because we rustle many o jimmies. (there's a lot of us) It's popular to pick at LSU. (even though we have a more well rounded AD than 90% of the conference)

yup. he walked into a shite situation and immediately got results. He nearly won 20 games with 2 5'8" guards and a walk on tuba player center getting legitimate playing time. He would have won 20 if Johnson wasn't so apathetic he couldn't even assemble a full roster or fill the OOC schedule wit someone, anyone.

as long as he doesn't tank at the end and makes LSU a consistent tournament team that's fun to watch, I find myself having a hard time being mad at that. "Be careful what you wish for" comes to mind when I think of loathing Brady, even though firing him was overall the right call

Johnny Jones has taken LSU from the bottom of the SEC to the NCAA Tournament in just three seasons.

Plus he has an actual elite recruiting class coming in, unlike USC's "elite" class

K. Anderson deserves to be at the bottom for now, but I think he can turn it around if given time.

Terrible thread and a really dumb OP. These coaches all stepped into different situations. AJ hasn't even coached a game yet. As for Martin, I think people are underestimating him. He walked into a disaster. Darrin horn was a complete joke who really hurt SCs program. This year I think they lost one or two of their best players before the season even started. I watched a few Carolina BB games and it appears Martin has gotten a better handle on his temper. Y'alls class this year is pretty dang good. I'm not sure Y'all can win a championship with him but I absolutely believe Martin is the right guy to rebuild the program. He's also assembled a pretty good staff.
