Obviously they have no room here. Just keep spewing bull shite. I don't expect to be a final 4 team, but it would be stupid to fire Martin right now.
Who said you should fire him? Hell, give him a lifetime contract. I'd be fine with that.
What bullshite? Just stuff you disagree with???

Never thought I'd see delusional South Carolina basketball fans.
Amazing really.

terrible recruiter
One McDonald's All-American brah. First one since, 2000. He's a great recruiter. Elite class in top 20 (not sure what that means but I read it somewhere).

eta: and look, I'm not anti-Martin and think he's a good, not great coach. However this board's incessant shitting on Jones is a laugh riot given what he's accomplished in just 3 years
I have never said one word about Jones, nor hyping Martin. Just pointed out a few facts. That is all.
-He was at KST for 5 years, it couldn't all be because of Hugging players.
-He recruited our first McDonald AA since 2000
-And finally, that he makes more that one poster said. (didn't say whether he should or shouldn't)

Frank Martin. Year three and he's only reached 6 conference wins. Nice troll attempt though.

The political machine at LSU got him in. If he wasn't a former player, he would have never been thought of.
It played a factor, sure. But maybe the timing wasn't right for a top tier coach to leave and the market was weak. The only candidate that ever surfaced was Jamie Dixon.
I just don't think Alleva gives enough fricks what Dale Brown thinks is best for the program. They don't have anything close to the pull big donors have. I also don't see Dale "holding a gun" to Alleva's head on the hire, or Jones would have gotten the job before Trent Johnson.
Just like Ole Miss needed an "Ole Miss guy" for football, maybe it wasn't such a bad idea with Jones. He's a low risk, high reward hire. If we're going by performance based salary, he's getting results far better than his current pay grade

Bastard, he isn't a good recruiter so it will take time for him to break out. He has improved us each year, we have a top 20 elite class coming in, and Joey Brackets has us on the bubble. We will be a top 7 seed IMO. Also his teams have an identity of tough physical in your face defense.
Avery Johnson's identity is getting fired from 3 NBA jobs and setting out for 3 years because nobody wanted to hire him. Even Auburn and Mizzou passed over him last year.
<Insert Coach of the Year argument, NBA finals coach argument, former NBA player argument, fastest coach to ever get to 50 wins>
you get the rest.

I wasn't singling you out on your thoughts on Jones. There's just a huge contingent of posters on here who insist on writing Jones off so quickly.
LSU got him for 1.2 million, and all things considered he's proven he was a nice coup for the price tag.
I should stop taking the hook on gcockboi's insanely idiotic posts, but I'm procrastinating, so why not?

Does retiring and having your number retired in San Antonio count as a firing? If not, not sure where the 3rd was.

Too soon to judge Kim. He very well may be the worst, but he deserves a few years to clean up the mess left by Mike Anderson and Haith.

I cannot judge the new hires in the SEC yet because my judgment of a MBB HC in our conference is based soley on what they do since entering the SEC. But Frank Martin has shown me ZERO as a HC in his three seasons in the SEC. The number one job of a HC is to recruit talent and Martin has not done that with any real success. Doesn't win games either. Maybe that will change in the next three seasons.
As for Johnny Jones, I was totally against his hire when it was made. (I am an LSUMBB season ticket holder since 1977.) But I like where he is taking us in that he took over a program with few players, a program totally in the dump and CJJ has not had a losing SEC season in three years and took us into the NCAA this year. I expect to get back to the NCAA in 2016 and maybe win a game or two.

Calipari. He lost an entire game this season. Tch.
Seriously though, I'd say Frank Martin doesn't seem great. I mean, he hasn't been at South Carolina too long, but he took over a pretty much stagnant, dead program. What he can do in Columbia (SC) will truly show off his caliber.
But all in all, no one in the SEC is that great. My biggest vote is Johnny Jones at LSU. I mean dude, you're at LSU.
Of course, I'm not big on coach names anyway, so I might be a little off kilter with this one.

I'm not a big fan of Kennedy at aTm or LSUs Jones. LSU as a program, could and should do so much better.
Just saying, but JJ is ahead of where Mike Anderson was in his 3rd year at Arkansas.
