He only worked as a head coach for two NBA organizations. You can't count the Nets twice because they moved.

He just needs time bro. He's gone from 4 to 5 to 6 SEC wins each year. He is going to be force to be reckoned with in 4 years.

Elite 8 says otherwise

Stan Heath took Kent State to the Elite 8 with far less talent

Hell, John Brady took LSU to the Final 4

Your insecurity over Frank Martin hardly accomplishing anything while Jones is winning is hysterical. I would be too if my coach couldn't get past the second round with a team headlined by michael Beasely and an absurdly loaded roster.

If Martin was even half as good as you think he is, he sure as hell would have held out for a better job than South Carolina. Great coaches don't go to South Carolina for a 1.6 million dollar salary

Third round at a better basketball school was all he could accomplish it seems.

Things were going south with recruiting at KState as well. His yelling was hurting his ability to get good players. No one wants to play for someone that insane. It'll happen at USC too. Your next coach will have a tough road. It'll be an important hire for you guys.

Maybe Marshall will be ready to make a move next year.

Martin made about 1.1 million plus incentives at Kansas State last year.

South Carolina is going to go from 17-15 to 25+ win team in the deepest year the SEC will have been in since the early 2000s?

seems legit.

OK. He'll get tired of that insanity and losing too. You can't be that insane on your kids and not win before they tune you out.

Next year is important for USC baskethoops. Still bad = kids tuning him out

I am responding to your comments with facts. Obviously they have no room here. Just keep spewing bullshite. I don't expect to be a final 4 team, but it would be stupid to fire Martin right now.

I guess you know this from all of your college coaching experience?

Wow, you guys pay nearly 600k more a year for Martin than LSU does Jones, and you guys are elated over his body of work?

Plus, 1.6 isn't exactly big money when a non traditional power is trying to poach a top tier coach, and you know that. that's why Alabama is throwing around 3 million to try and get the best. If Martin were in that category, he sure as hell wouldn't go to USC for a 500k bump. Even better, if he was worth it, don't you think Kansas State would have offered him a fat raise to stay?

eta: and look, I'm not anti-Martin and think he's a good, not great coach. However this board's incessant shitting on Jones is a laugh riot given what he's accomplished in just 3 years

The political machine at LSU got him in. If he wasn't a former player, he would have never been thought of.

You could just say I disagree with your opinion. Not sure why you want to lash out.

I think many agree with my opinion and some of them even where black and garnet.

Anyway, just look at the KState timeline.

Martin has shown he won't make it in the SEC, terrible recruiter, and doesn't n a system which could topple the C-USA.
