Jay Jacobs has done a shite job...other than hiring Malzahn and keeping Cam eligible

I think hiring Malzahn notched him up, now if he fires Barbee and makes a hire he can stay the same or shoot up. I don't follow baseball so can't really say if that was a good hire or not.

Jay Jacobs hired Gene Chizik and Tony Barbee...if it wasn't for Cam and Gus, it would be checkmate.

At the time he looked good. Miami was trending upward under Haith

What? No they weren't. His conference record at Miami: 43-69. Conference record his last two seasons: 10-22.

And Haith was a "wtf?" hire. Nobody was talking about him as a potential candidate to get a high-level job. Sure, he looked like a good hire after Mizzou won 30 games in 2012, but he didn't look like a good hire at the time, and he definitely doesn't look like a good hire now.

Did he really try to pursue the Tuna? Damn

What i learned from the Gillispie hire is that Barnhart did little to no checking on Gillispie, must have just watched sportscenter. He also messed up the ability to hire a good younger HC for football when Morriss left for Baylor. He tried to get Bill Parcells and spent too much time chasing him. Dumb, Parcells was never going to come here. Then lastly, he really wasn't interested in Calipari, but wanted to look elsewhere.

Bingo on all counts. Barnhart knew nothing about Gillispie and believed all the rumors about Calipari. He only caved on Calipari because of the fans' demand.

He was friends with Joker and wanted to promote him because he was "one of our own." What a maroon.

Barnhart is poison to our football program in particular. His ego is monstrous and he doesn't look for advice from others and ignores it when it's offered.

Jay Jacobs' results on the playing field speaks for itself. We suck in nearly all sports now including swimming & diving. I dont know anything about Mizzou's but Jacobs took over a strong AD & it has turned to shite.

Barnhart is one of the best in the SEC. I will never understand why our fans hate him. We could do sooooo much worse.

Because of his ego, we missed out on getting an actual football coach.

Yeah, it looks like Boom was a bad miss, but you can't argue with Foley's track record and what he has done for your athletic department.

Meyer was more of a Machen hire.

He's not really pretty.

I like him because he's done a great job with the lesser know sports and it seems that, as of now, he's made a really good football hire and is pumping money into things not named mens basketball.

Wait, you're being serious? There's more to being an AD than hiring football coaches. Foley is the best AD in the country.

He's gotten some heat for the Gillispie hire and he should have. But he weathered all the Tubby bullshite and was smart enough to learn from his Gillispie mistake to get guys like Mike Pratt to come in and help with the Calipari hire. The Phillips hire was a hope that the program could continue to build on Brooks from hiring a UK guy from within. He was under a lot of pressure to do so as well.

IMO the facility upgrades he's ushered in as of late, hiring Stoops and Calipari, and having success in some of the Olympic sports outweighs any residual bullshite from the other two hires. He's certainly done more for the program as a whole then Newton did.

ETA: You can also add to it that he brought in Rich Brooks when no one would touch our FB program with a ten foot pole.
