Isn’t the right answer Tua?

Same. He deserves so much more than Ole Miss can offer him.

Patterson has the most talent but is being asked to do too much and is causing him to be erratic. He made some throws against AU that were incredible but he also had a couple throws that could have easily been pick 6's if DBs caught the ball.

If we are talking about strictly throwing the football then it is Stidham hands down but he still is just a soph with very little pocket awareness at the moment.

Shea Patterson is on pace to break the single season SEC passing record. After playing Alabama and Auburns top five defenses. I wouldn't trade him for anyone.

That's almost entirely because of the numbers he put up against UT Martin and South Alabama. He's been pretty bleh against Power 5 teams (Cal, Bama, Auburn).

74/124 (59.7%) (T4th SEC vs P5)
291 YPG (1st SEC vs P5)
7.0 YPA (6th SEC vs P5)
4 TD / 5 INT
121.5 QB Rating (7th SEC vs P5)

His numbers against the other 2 (UT Martin, South Alabama) are what propel his overall stats

60/78 (76.9%)
459 YPG
11.8 YPA
9 TD / 1 INT
211.3 QB Rating

That's entirely because Alabama and Auburn are VERY good. He's averaging 360 despite playing those two. And, as you guys have noted, he hasn't even played well yet. I think that is because between the defense and running game he stays in obvious passing situations.

Edit: that paltry 291 again (well above average p5 defenses) would be 3500 yards. Pretty damn good under any circumstances.

I'm not arguing that he isn't a really good player stuck on a bad team, but you made it sound like his stats were really good even after playing Alabama and Auburn.

His stats were really good against UT-Martin and South Alabama. His stats were pretty bad against Alabama and Auburn.

In fairness to Patterson he has had to play Bama and Auburn (both Top 10 defenses) on the road in the last 2 weeks. He's has FCS level RBs at his disposal and his team has been mentally overwhelmed all season.

His SOS gets much weaker the rest of the season and he faces Vandy LSU at home the next two games, followed by Arky and Kentucky. He should have more success and put up a ton of stats.

Shame he's stuck throwing slants and go routes and getting sacked.

I'd also say Patterson. I don't look forward to facing him in a couple of weeks.

I made it sound like he will make a run at the single season passing record. I'd be shocked if he doesn't come near or surpass it. There are no more top five defenses on the schedule. That's my point.

If you had told me that Allen wouldn't have been in the top 5 when it comes to any of those categories. I would have thought we lost him for the year.

You might this weekend. The O line is trying hard to kill him.

I seriously feel awful for that kid. Every time I watch him make a forced throw that ends in a turnover and walk to the sideline his face just makes me cringe. You can tell he's just completely mentally destroyed.

They are pretty good. However, it's hard to run out of the shotgun every damn time behind an oft injured OL that only pass blocks.

Makes sense, agree.
