Stidham has had a great run the last few weeks, and probably has the rightful claim on this label. After him, it gets real messy. Nobody stands out, but there are a lot of pretty good QBs. Bentley, Patterson, Allen (who's having a bad year), Fitz, From, Hurts, Mond, Lock, Patterson, Shurmur, Johnson, and even Etling have done good things, but also seem limited in ways.

Great teams either have more talent than everyone else across the board, or they have good talent with a great QB. We have lots of good QBs in this league, but maybe no great ones. Maybe that's one of the big reasons that the league is down.

Patterson has great skills but his performance is wild and out of control. A lot of that is probably his terrible high school OC and a bad OL, but he misses a LOT of throws.

Honestly, I still think Shea is the best. He threw some dimes against AU that got dropped. Kid is a creator as well. I also think Fitzgerald is better than stats have shown due to having no help. He's not been incredibly accurate but he's better than numbers show. I will admit that I have not seen Arkansas enough to really evaluate Allen

Hurts wins and that counts for something. He still needs work as a passer but more than makes up for it with his legs. Still a top 5 QB in SEC this year

If I was picking a QB to start my team I'd probably pick Stidham. Other guys who are clearly talented in various ways are Hurts, Patterson, Fromm and Bentley.

I'd disqualify a few guys for critical mass failings in certain areas. Allen has seemingly finally been broken by all the hits and turns the ball over too much. Fitzgerald makes Jalen Hurts passing look like Tom Brady.

I think Stephen Johnson is a solid QB and Etling could be a decent game manager if his O-line wasn't a sieve. Mond is very talented and improving by the game. He might be in the Top 3-4 by years end. Lock has good tools but I don't know what to do with him. Dormandy throws off his back foot every throw and basically sucks. Shurmur is pretty meh.

Have you watched him play since Week 1? He's fast and athletic and he has a huge arm. He's a true freshman so he's not gonna set the world on fire, but he flashes stuff that only a handful of guys can do.

He's raw but his skills are really, really good. He's clearly "talented".

Glad to see you finally came around. I remember we had this discussion preseason. Stidham is definitely amongst the top 3 if not the best. We both said he would be in the convo.

I think Patterson is the most talented. He's also incredibly erratic.

Agree to disagree I suppose. Kid doesn't impress me in the slightest. Only thing that he's good at it avoiding the sack, besides that he looks like a receiver playing qb or something. He played way over his head for that Bama game. Like most A&M qbs seem to do.

Obviously I'm a UGA guy and love Fromm, but I realistically don't see him as worthy of mention in this sort of thread just yet. Maybe by default, since there aren't many top talents going right now.

At this point Fromm is a great game manager. He has great touch, he can run when necessary to keep the chains moving, but I don't think he has a good enough grasp on the offense to move the ball on someone who shuts down our running game.

I will follow that up by saying I think he is the perfect QB for us right now. He isn't going to kill drives, and will hit short passes reliably so that we are consistently in 3rd and manageable situations. I don't see anyone totally stopping our run game, so he doesn't have to be the best QB in conference to do what we need.

Finally came around? Like you said, I've been on the Stidham bus since before the season. He's an NFL QB talent.

I'm still not totally convinced he, at this point, can make big throws with pressure in his face. We'll find out in November. However, he's a sophomore and I expect that to improve.

He's what I imagine Manziel might have been like playing with a terrible O-line and 15 play calls.

Patterson would probably be the best on a good team. Ole Miss is not a good team.

Hurts is the most effective because of his scrambling ability gives him the highest qbr in the conference.
I think Stidham has the most accurate arm, right now at least. I think From has the most potential to become an NFL starter one day. Patterson, Fitzgerald and Shurmur, could very well be better than the other 3 but they aren't getting enough help from the rest of the team to prove it.

Patterson is a heisman candidate on a team with a pulse.
