I just found UK's all time record against SEC opponents in basketball. Not surprising that Tennessee has been our most competitive rival over time.

Kentucky winning percentage against other SEC teams:

Missouri 7-0 1.000
Ole Miss 103-13 .888
Auburn 89-17 .840
Miss. St. 91-20 .820
Georgia 117-26 .818
S. Carolina 47-11 .810
LSU 85-25 .773
Vanderbilt 139-46 .751
Alabama 103-37 .736
Florida 94-37 .718
Texas A&M 5- 2 .714
Arkansas 25-11 .694
Tennessee 150-67 .691

LINK

Florida has moved down the list a lot recently as UK once had a higher winning percentage against them than almost anyone. Surprised Miss St. didn't have more wins given their good teams in the early 60s, Williams in the 90s and Stansberry more recently. Vandy and Bama have more wins than I realized.

Not sure anybody can claim a rivalry with UK because UK pretty much has a wide series advantage on everybody but the new guys. Rivalries are generally teams with a close series advantage or proximity neither of which makes a good fit for any other SEC team

It's UT. Border state and UT is the only school in the SEC other than UK to fill our arena.

No rival for LSU in football...
No rival for UK in basketball...

Let's do this.

Not sure it would make a difference. Kentucky versus the ACC:

Georgia Tech 56-15
Louisville 33-15
North Carolina 14-23
Wake Forest 5-0
Va.Tech 3-1
Virginia 6-3
Syracuse 8-3
N.C. State 3-1
Duke 11-9
Clemson 12-4
Florida St. 6-2
Miami 3-1

Others

Indiana 32-24
Kansas 22-6
Michigan St. 12-11
Notre Dame 42-19
Ohio State 11-8
UCLA 7-4
Utah 9-2
Xavier 37-2
West Virginia 14-5
UAB 2-3

Overall, it looks like the B1G has been the most competitive with Kentucky over the years. North Carolina is kind of a fluke since UK played them every year during a stretch when Dean Smith had UNC rolling and Kentucky was down. One reason I would love to add UNC if the conference expands again; it would create a great rivalry and let us move back in front of them. Also didn't realize we were 22-6 against Kansas, which is awesome.

Historically it's gotta be Arky. Cmon, toe to toe throughout the 90s when both teams were powerhouses.

Plus we swept last year. I realize the record is heavily skewed, but the natural rivalry is Arkansas if there was one. Eddie Sutton leaving, Nolan vs Pitino, Nolan vs Tubbs.

Florida has done well in taking advantage of declining Tubby program and BCG collapse. But they're not a bball crazed program.

At least Arkansas and UT can boast non 1950s POS high school gyms that fill up during big games.

As long as Donovan is at Florida, I think UF-UK will be the premiere game in the conference.

Lol wut? Historically it's a game with a team they've only played consistently since 1992?

It will be interesting to see what happens if he ever leaves. Can't believe you guys sucks so bad this year. It's hard to watch his ball screen offense with those scrubs. No offense.

Is Florida actually a program now or is it Donovan?

It's 25 years at this point. A 1/4 century....

Or did we have to play w/o shot clock and three point line to consider it historic?

Considering Kentucky has played Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Alabama, LSU, etc for roughly 100 years. The shot clock era started in the 1970s (50 years ago). I'm not saying Arkansas isn't one of Kentucky's rivals, but "most historical"?

That's Tennessee. Always will be. Tennessee gave Kentucky all they could handle in the 60s and 70s and then again during the Pearl era.
