I just saw Condredge Holloway on SportsCenter. He said Bear wouldn't recruit him as quarterback because he was black...I must watch now. 
BTW...Kenny Chesney is from the same high school of today's Daytona 500 winner.

Y'all need to forget the Kenny Chesney angle. I think most of you would be interested in Holloway.Not only was he the first black QB,his first game was starting against Georgia Tech in Atlanta in '72 vs their QB, Eddie McAshan who also was black making it the first game in the South with two black starting QB's in a Division 1 game.
Guy was an All-American baseball player at UT,too. As for Bryant,Bear was 100% honest with Holloway during the recruitment that he really wanted him, just not at QB. Holloway has said a thousand times how much he respected him for his honesty.
