I'd take him.

I'm pretty sure most every program outside of Tuscaloosa would take Les Miles.

While Gator fans will tell you they'd take McElwain, I don't know any other group of fans in the SEC who would take McElwain over Miles if given the option.

Les is solid #2 coach in the SEC, and it isn't even close.

Recruits well
Good guy
Wins more than loses
Good defenses

I would under the right circumstances. You could do a lot worse for sure.

No, No way... Absolutely not.

Nutt did well against Miles,
Petrino did well against Miles,
CBB is doing well against Miles...

All with lesser talent, lesser paid staffs, lesser recruiting territories, and presumably lesser funds/fan support.

NO!

Honestly, no. Not out of disrespect, but because I don't really think he could do better with Vandy and Vandy's talent pool than Coach Mason. It's just our situation, right?

I would take him in a second. The last LSU coach we got has really worked out for us.

Um......no.

Miles's reputation alone would have Vandy recruiting at a level it has never recruited at. Does that mean more success? Who knows, but it would be worth trying.

LSU is 2 (big) things away from being elite again

(a) Figure out how to develop an Alabama level game manager at QB. I thought Harris was one this season, but he is not. He may be in the future. But you have to have a QB who can roll out and hit WR's consistently on slants and stops even against good defenses. Especially with all those talented receivers

(b) Has to start signing some bigger DL. LSU is soft at DL and soft at LB. They did not used to be like that. I know they are faster for the spread teams, and that makes sense, but you have to still have a few big guys and some depth.

Also, the Steele hire was a disaster. That is only going to get worse. He's just not a very good coordinator.
