LSU. Alabama is a really close second.

your facts are fictitious, Alabama will show the SEC again that we'll always have the best D in the conference while Saban is coaching.

Bama has the best D in the SEC 4 straight years and that probably won't change. The Bama scheme is just the best.

Bama will always be able to stop the run and force teams into 3rd and longs. Bama will always be the best at getting teams off the field on 3rd down. Until somebody else finish #1 its Bama.

BAMA. See the Overall Defense rankings from 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. BAMA has had the #1 defense the last 4 years straight.

See BAMA 2009 and 2011. The tradition under Saban will continue.

That would mean next is 2013, so LSU wins 2012.

I would say LSU. UGA might have the best DL and close on LB but our secondary doesn't have enough depth to be considered in the top 3 in the SEC.

It's LSU and not very close. Alabama may be good but no way they immediately replace all they lost. Absurb for bama fans to be so unrealistic. No way Babama has 2 all-american LB's this year. That is a lot to replace. LSU has by far best DL in country, prob best secondary, and LB's are getting a lot better. I would not say Georgia is overrated nor USCe

If Alabama can manage to field a top five defense in 2010, after replacing 10 starters, I think we can find a way to do it in 2012 with five starters back.

Except there's a very good liklihood they will and a very good liklihood both go in round 1

There's this clowney guy you may have heard of, and his buddy taylor

prob best secondary

Debateable, but yes possible

Based on what? You're losing 3 starters

I agree Mosley will go first round, especially since he'll be seeing more time at Sam in our base D (well that is what everyone has said recently) and you know how valuable a good coverage LB is going to be with the emergence of all of these TEs.

Nico is better than Te'o imo, but unless he puts on another 10 pounds and has a very good season in comparison to Hightower Te'o will go over Nico because of production and the fact that people are blinded by Te'o's weight for some reason. He's only 250 something, but I don't even know.

Nico is plenty big enough, he's at least 245. 4 years of considerable playing time under saban will assure him a first round grade if he stays healthy. Mosley may be the best coverage backer in CFB, prototype 4-3 weakside backer

Damn straight. People will say his numbers were down last year, but it was a Sophomore slump, he missed 3 games, and he was always around his man. Plus we led the nation in three and out defense.

6'4" (some reports say 6'3", I'll say 6'4" until the combine) 245 is nice, but I've seen people like Manti more simply because he is "6'2", 255". I'm just like

Is ignorant as frick.

To say that CJ and Nico will be 1st and 2nd team AA Is ignorant as frick also. And who cares if its a 4-3 or a 3-4? OP asked who is the best defense. I look at it as if i am an opposing offense, which D do I not want to play? LSU then Bama. They both are head and shoulders above everyone else in college football, so its not like people are saying Bamas D blows. But, losing a 5th year leader in Hightower counts for alot. Same with Upshaw. Everytime I watched Bama play Upshaw would come up with a clutch tackle for less or sack.

DL- LSU(pretty wide margin)
LB- Bama(pretty wide margin)
DB- LSU(close, but not that close)

Nico is a fourth year guy who has played every single year he's been here and started a shite ton of games. He has no problem being a leader. CJ is in the same ship except he is a third year guy.

Upshaw really, as much as I love him, had a lot of coverage sacks and he could bullrush. That was his entire pass rushing game. His power.

Wait til you see Hubbard, IF he is all he is cracked up to be.

Anyway, thinking CJ and Nico will be on some AA teams isn't ignorant. How many LBs are better? Stanford has two solid guys, I wouldn't say either is better. Te'o is good, Porter is really good, Jarvis Jones is really good. Alec Ogletree is good, I wouldn't say better, but about in the same little tier.

Plus, the media awards our players just for going to Alabama. See Vlachos.

Auburn has this guy. He will summon his great spartan mullet legacy and rain thunder on the opposing team's offense. That or he will be out of position and whiff on tackles like last year
