Tell me how long he lasted as DC.

If you'd have hired him as a recruiter/position coach you might have a point.

You made him DC, a position he has held at 3 highly successful, talent rich programs this decade. He failed miserably at each stop, fielding defenses that were worse in both YPG and PPG under him than they were under his predecessor.

But hey, look at the right side. Birmingham will be thrilled to have y'all back again this December.

Everywhere Steele goes he makes the defense worse than what it was and when he leaves the defense does better than the year that he was there. Gus made one of the worst decisions when he hired him from LSU

Kiffin's offense put up 600 yards of offense in week one on Aranda.

With heavy guidance from Saban I am sure.

Pruitt let Treon Harris lead offenses run all over UGA two years in a row.

And demoted from DC after 2007. Great assistant and recruiter though.

Umm, what? Almost every post about Aranda, by LSU fans, calls him a genius or implies it.

Aranda will certainly have a ton of talent and experience at his disposal. But every defense is built on a foundation, and that foundation is defensive linemen. Unless Godchaux makes a huge leap from last year, LSU has no one to match Jon Allen. So I'd say Bama's defense will be better. LSU's will be very good, though.

To be fair Gary Andersen left for Oregon State soon after that game so I think he and probably his staff didn't really prepare for that game.

So he's used to quitting at some point during the season- should fit in perfectly then.

For LSU fans, the best part of their football season is June-August.

Let me save you some time and provide the answers:

LSU Fans - "I'm gonna go with Aranda. He's always been solid and he's never had this type of talent to work with before."

Bama Fans - "I'm gonna go with Pruitt. He has improved the defenses at both his stops as DC, he knows Saban's system, and he's got a ton of talent to work with at Bama".

Everyone else - "I'm gonna troll based on how my team did against one or the other of the choices".

I wasn't impressed by Aranda's defense last year when Bama played Wisconsin. They couldn't stop Bama with a new starting QB.

Pruitt has a national championship ring as DC at FSU. So Pruitt gets the nod.

This, Bama put up 500+ yards and 35pts . It was Bama's first game, the starting QB wasn't even settled, both played. Rushed and passed for @250e

As an LSU fan this is dumb. I love Aranda and think he is going to be special and he has some talent to work with but it's the first year implementing his D. There are going to be break downs. Pruitt is coming in and going to run Saban's schemes with little to no alterations to verbiage or schemes. This is the third DC in three years so there will be a learning curve. LSU D will be salty but Pruitt/Saban get the nod.

Except everyone really knows it will not be Pruitt's defense at Bama.

If Kirby was just calling the plays that Saban was wanting ran, how do you guys truly feel that Kirby will do running the Georgia program, personally I feel it was way more Kirby than Saban, but either way one will get exposed in the near future and everyone will see who was actually running the show.
