I'm sure I'm not the only LSU fan that would hate not playing Bama and Auburn every year.

Kansas, would bring in the K.C. market and give Mizzou a rival

And it would give Arkansas a conference win each year!

North Carolina and Virginia (or Tech)

Expands the footprint into major new states and brings in two elite universities. It can't happen because of the GOR - but this is my answer to the OP's question

With: Texas, A&M, OU, Missouri, and Arkansas this would seem more like the Big 12 or SWC than the SEC

With 16 teams you probably need four team divisions and for the NCAA to sign off on an extra round of conference playoffs to declare a single conference champ.

Let's leave the conference as it is now unless we can somehow pull North Carolina(don't think they want to come). The conference has enough football powers

Who do you want to see added to a 16 team SEC?
Agreed.
Pure hypothetical.
Was simply listing states--contiguous to current SEC states--that don't already have an SEC presence.

I'd be for adding two eastern schools, then re-working the east/west conference boundary.

Don't think there would be an "east/west" boundary. I think it would just be 4 pods of 4 chosen by.....???.

Hawaii, think of the new vacation options!

Hawaii makes as much sense as WV in the B12. You'ld NEVER hear the end of the travel/time complaints! & with them 6 hrs. BEHIND the east coast, imagine what EARLY times all their contests would have to be scheduled.

Even though I wouldn't mind playing teams like Clemson, UT and OU more often, we're already TOO DAMN BIG as it is! It's bad enough we get to play other members of the conference once every 10 years or whatever. Adding more people, no matter how good they are, will only make the problem worse.

Not necessarily. If you do 4 pods of 4 teams, you'ld see everybody in 3 years:

A/B vrs. C/D
A/C vrs. B/D
A/D vrs. B/C

Full rotation in 6 years.

As it stands now, you see everybody ONCE in 6 years.

10 games would force UGA to veto any addition other than GA Tech or we would lose almost all flexibility in scheduling

too bad so sad

5 home, 5 away

2 OOC have one be home and one away each year

I thought you didnt give a shite about that 12th game?

Everyone should be able to schedule 1 patsy.

We have GA Tech

KY has Louisville

SC has Clemson

UF has FSU

You phaggots SHOULD get TX and Mizzou SHOULD get Kansas

IF that happened, a 10 game conference schedule would mean NEVER getting to play a big name team from the other conferences OR giving up a competitive advantage.

Thae idea would be voted down, 9 games is as much as you can ever hope for.

3 divisional opponent, MAYBE 1 permanent rival and rotate the rest.

Like you said - too bad, so sad.

you have 4 or 5 teams that will veto a 10 game schedule even if we go to 16 teams.

HOWEVER, would they INCREASE the # games on everybody's schedule to 13 (or more)? If they do, that frees up things again.

No - you don't need any extra rounds.
year 1 - Pods A/B #1 vrs. Pods C/D #1
year 2 - Pods A/C #1 vrs. Pods B/D #1
year 3 - Pods A/D #1 vrs. Pods B/C #1

NCAA said you had to have "divisions" to have a CG.....but they DO NOT say it has to be the SAME teams in those divisions each year.
