UT is a large university with a huge vast alumni base. Maybe the older alumni base is much different than the younger alumni base. Nevertheless they come from all walks of life so any conference even the BIG could be home.
Who are we kidding, though, that the majority of UT fans are alums. The administration in Austin understands this and the choice of conferences will have to be a mix of appeasing the athletic department, academics and the t shirt fans.

Truthfully the PAC 12 is the best choice with the ACC running a close second. I believe UT could fit in with UW, UCLA, Cal, USC and Stanford. They also could fit in with UVA and UNC as well.
I believe it would be harder for the California schools to see UT as an equal. I have been to games at the Rose Bowl and at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley and I have to say these PAC 12 schools still think of UT for the most part as some backwards football first school. Even alumni of places like UCLA and Cal do.
With this I actually think the ACC would be the best choice even with the distance if Syracuse and Boston College is pushed out to the BIG for 2 Texas and 2 Oklahoma schools. I think the ACC's opinion of the SEC is very similar to UT's.

Are you daft, or did you accidentally post here instead of in your diary?
This is the SEC Rant.
No one gives a lick about which conference for which you believe UTex to be the best fit.
Not only are your posts rambling, they're strange.

Why are you upset by the post.
Shouldn't Aggy agree that UT doesn't belong in the SEC. If UT wanted to join this conference UT would be in this conference in a heartbeat. Aggy would be the only no vote. This is coming from firsthand information from people who have communicated with the Group of 4 schools. Arkansas is a wobbler but their vote with yours would not keep UT out of this conference.

So yes my statement has something to do with the SEC because the question was put forth of what school would replace Ole Miss.

Who the hell is the "Group of 4?" You're making things up.

Texas has nothing to offer the SEC. They should gather up three of their little satellite schools in the B12 and head to the PAC. Even the ACC is off limits to them now that that conference has stabilized.

If all of this stuff is true and they don't throw them out, I'm calling bullshite on some of these transfer rules. Preventing players from transferring here because of something they did at another school is far below this. If the NCAA will let those players play, then we should.

Teasips on this board are so hilarious. They created their Plantation Conference (that lets them have their own channel!) because they want to control the narrative about how great they are. Unfortunately, no one cares about either of these, so they desperately post on SEC or Aggie boards to reach beyond the tens of viewers on the LHN.

Nope. MS does not have the population to support 2 SEC schools.

This OM situation is like a wildfire in nature, cleaning out the scrub brush and trash plants so that the beneficial trees can flourish

Yes it is the off season but this is still a dumbass thread. Charter members don't get "kicked out" & OM is here to stay.

It's not as hard as one would think to vote out a charter member, according to the SEC constitution.

Actually doing though would be tough.

Nobody. They are in no danger of losing membership. Most of you guys spouting otherwise are obviously trolling but a few of you are retarded for seriously entertaining the possibility.

But if Ole Miss can't field a football team then what's the difference between having them and Wichita State who doesn't have Football but is actually good at Basketball.

The difference is that Football (and maybe basketball to an extent at a good BB school) makes the money to pay for all those other sports. Without football, would the school budget the millions needed from their budget to help the Athletic Program?
