Why won't Mizzou claim 1960? They have the most legit claim if they'd just follow thru. They were undefeated

back to the original question

Miss State

I have a lot of friends that went there, good people, they will always have an uphill battle against schools with more resources - let 'em win one when my teams aren't any good anyway.

Wait, I thought those kind of claims were "random dates?"

Have some consistency killz. Or troll a group other than Aggies.

Washington actually went back and claimed it in 07.

Missouri's problem is they lost to Kansas 23-7 at the end of the regular season. It was forfeited later on because of the Jayhawks using an ineligible player but the damage had already been done.

What is your feeling of Ole Miss vs UW for that year then?

Ole Miss went 10-0-1 (tied LSU), was awarded a major poll title, and got the most selections overall in the records book.
Washington went 10-1 (lost to Navy). Their one and only selection was from the Helms Athletic Foundation.

As for Missouri...they were 9-0 and #1 in both the AP and Coaches before losing to Kansas...then it was turned into a win sometime before the bowls...then they went on to beat Navy in the Orange to finish 11-0 and got selected by some dude named Bill Poling.

Bill Poling is a fricking boss. His poll was basically the BCS before the BCS was invented. Removed voter bias.

Minnesota claims it as well with 2 losses. Go figure

I wish every SEC team could win one. Outside of the SEC, I'd really like to see Kansas State win one, specifically with Bill Snyder.

Minnesota got both the AP and Coaches, so why wouldn't they claim it? Both would've gone to Missouri if y'all had taken care of business against Kansas on the field.

Wait, what? They went back and changed the final outcome of a game? How does that work?

Yes, I know. Just shows how many illegitimate claims there are to NCs. They awarded the title before bowl games which is, well, just stupid.
