Auburn and A&M could both be pretty good. USC will be better than their last place ranking.

Mississippi State tends to exceed expectations every year so I'll go with them

Will someone please explain UK football to me like I'm 5?

What's going on there? Any positions where they have talent? .500 season outlook?

They have the talent to be an 8 win team in say the ACC or Big 12. Unfortunately for them, that means they are a .500 team at best in the SEC

In the West, I pick State. Although I don't discount Auburn as an underdog, but I do as a favorite. Hogs rarely win a close game under Bert and Sumlin maybe fighting for his job.

In the East of the teams mentioned in the OP, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them made it to Atlanta and Mizzou and UK would be my picks. Damn that division is almost embarrassing.

IMO its Aub or A&M. Both are dependent on QB play. I personally think its A&M because I expect their defense to take a big leap in Chavis's second year and I saw the confusion on Defense last year with Kevin Steele at LSU.

If Knight can play even close to his potential A&M could be really good. I believe with Mazzone they will run more and just be a more fluid offense and not be so boom or bust. This will help the defense a ton.

The only reason Aub is a consideration to be much better is do to the strength of their Oline, especially that guard tandem.

I think A&M is gonna surprise a LOT of folks, with an outside shot at winning the West. Arky should be a little better than predicted, IMO.

Nobody in that group from the EAST IMO, but Mizzou will be EXTREMELY competitive in 2017--mark it down.

A&M.

Is the following true in terms of A&M's conference record? Saw it on a t-sip board. Kind of interesting consistency across their history.

SEC: 17-15 = .531

Big 12: 68-61 = .527

SWC: 244-218-30 = .526
