Auburn
Mizzou

I think both could be much better than many think.

It depends. Nobody expects much from any listed team in the east, so exceeding those expectations is easy.

In the West, any of the 4 teams could be pretty solid, and honestly, a couple of them likely will be. The margins are smaller though, Auburn, expected to go 6-6 or 7-5 is going to sneak up to 8-4? Arky gets 9 wins instead of 8?

One of these three. I guess I'd go with Arky if I could only pick one, but it seems like a crapshoot.

Mizzou because they have surprised twice.
A&M or Auburn because the the alleged talent we both have.
Miss State if the coils continue to build on the success of the last couple of years.

Will someone please explain UK football to me like I'm 5?

What's going on there? Any positions where they have talent? .500 season outlook?

I'm going to say Auburn. Every time they're expected to do well, the floor drops out. Every time no one expects much, they freaking win the SEC.

Yep, Auburn.

Thanks! Missed my buddies and buddettes around here.

Just got in this morning ... literally got off the plane at 10:40, slept all the way home on the last leg from L.A., haven't even unpacked yet and I am busting at the seams to talk some SEC football.

Just came out of the South Carolina board, catching up.

Everything I've read so far looks like everyone, literally everyone, has us finishing last in the conference, 100th in the country, or something like that.

We've got nowhere to go but up so I figure we definitely have the best chance to exceed expectations this season. We're not gonna finish last in the conference - at least I damn sure hope not.

I doubt we will either. There's nowhere to go but up and CWM has been coaching them up for sure. Everything I read out of practice is that we are more aggressive and faster which can only be good.

Secondary will be the weak spot again but I imagine our front 7 will be much improved. Offense is the real question mark. Who is gonna start at QB? Who is gonna start at RB? Who is X, Y and Z at WR? Lots of battles to resolve before Sep. 1.

A&M, because everybody has been fixated on the fact that they lost two QBs last year. Nobody paid attention to the fact that those QBs played like garbage and A&M still won 8 games. Two games were lost by less than an TD.

Butch Jones, Les Miles, Brett Bielemna, and Dan Mullen had similar seasons. Interesting that none of those programs are getting the same level of flack as A&M.

Probably A&M. I would say Missouri, but I feel like they are kind of getting some "they could be better than last year" buzz. Maybe Vanderbilt or Kentucky, but all that would take is winning a few more games.

I've seen at least one poll that had Arkansas last in the West. Where is A&M picked to finish opposed to where you think they'll finish? If you're picked last, or next to last - you may have a pretty good argument. Heck, anyone picked in that spot in the East or West would.
Sadly, we're all just dreaming about the powerball that is winning the SEC and a NC. Who really gives a frick about "exceeding preseason expectations" when you want a National Championship.
