Bama was expected to have a show down with fsu in the title game up until the clocks hit zero at jordan hare. You really think that bama team was worse than the 2010 team?

I don't know which team was worse but they both had the same sense of entitlement. They just got exposed earlier in 2010 because they had to go into Columbia ranked #1 with a huge target on its back. That was a huge opportunity for Spurrier and he doesn't miss many of those. Bama finally got its shite together against MSU in the bowl game and showed what kind of team it could have been.

Murray beat LSU with a completion % of barely above 55%. What's your point?

He made the throws he had to make and ran the plays he had to make to win the game.

A lot goes into having a great team. Maybe the most important thing is attitude. Bama fell way short on that last season.

Yep. They actually came a lot closer to playing for a title than I thought they would after watching the first couple of games though. That just shows what kind of talent Saban has stockpiled. They almost overcame a bad case of complacency and played for another one.

Heard there were several players on last years team that had bad attitudes that affected the whole team. They're no longer on the team.

They played one good team and lost.
They played three average teams (LSU/A&M/Oklahoma) and went 2-1

If Alabama had played any other good teams.. they'd probably have lost agian. Talent just wasn't there this season on defense.

EAST

Florida - Same to better (I have doubts they can get their Offense patched up to anywhere near SEC level, but if they improve enough they'll be better)

Georgia - Same (they will probably have a better record than last year, but that is because of all of the injuries they sustained last year)

USC - Same

UT - Same to Better (Them getting better rest soley on them getting better QB play)

UK - Same to Better (They will probably get better, but their record may not be any different)

Mizzou - Same

Vandy - Worse (I think they'll slide a bit post-Franklin)

WEST

Alabama - Same (I would be tickled pink with another 11 win season while breaking in a new QB that hasn't been groomed to take over like McElroy and AJ were. I would almost go worse, but I think we can beat a lot of teams on our schedule with mediocre QB play, and I think our defense will be better)

Arkansas - Same to Better (better if the team is really buying into Bielema and he can fix their defense)

LSU - Same to Worse (depending on the QB play)

MSU - Same

OM - Same (I think they have hit their plateau under freeze)

TAMU - Same to worse (I don't see how some new pass rushing freshmen are going to help what was one of the worse defenses in the SEC, and I'll be surpised if a new QB can fill JFF's shoes)

AU - Same (losing Mason will hurt, but I think Marshall will take up the slack)

I said pretty good, so I would include USCe and Georgia.

They didn't even really show flashes of being good. I get your point though.

Dobbs threw for 240 yards and rushed for 45 in his first start against Missouri. Remember the context...I said they would be "better". If they were lousy last year, and they are mediocre this year...then they are "better".

Several. One who should have been a leader, CJ Moseley. When Saban is saying this in October, you know there's a problem:

“The way things are right now – and I see it happening every day – is the ‘me-first mentality’ is something that’s very difficult to have when you’re in such a great team sport like football,” Saban said.

“Guys have got to understand that you’ve got to put the team first. You’ve got to buy into the principles and values of the team so that you can have the kind of team chemistry that you need to be successful.”

Non P&G glasses wearing Tiger fan.

How is LSU NOT going to be same to worse under this schedule given the break-in of a brand new QB?

I see a 2-loss regular season as a mega-uphill battle given these odds

Opponent: Odds

Wisconsin 55/45
UL Monroe 90/10
MS State 70/30
NM State 99/1
Auburn 45/55
Florida 50/50
Kentucky 70/30
Ole Miss 52/48
Alabama 45/55
Arkansas 55/45
TAMU 50/50

2 games in which LSU will be underdogs.

1 sure-fire last minute riveting game a/g OM

LSU does not play well in Ark

A&M has talent but is a complete question mark.

2 losses is unlikely. 3 losses is probable. 4 if LSU tanks.

Looking at OM's depth chart from last year, it doesn't look like they lose much. Should be better.
