Mississippi State and it isn't even close. Literally the only thing they bring to the table is a decent baseball program.

For the calendar years of 2011 and 2012, there were something like 6 and 8 (don't remember which number for year) each year who had both basketball teams and their baseball team n the NCAA tournaments with their football team in a bowl. Vanderbilt was the only team to do it in both.

If not for Kevin Stallings ineptitude, all 4 of those teams would be at historical highs. Baseball set the regular season SEC win record last year. Women's basketball has had really good recruiting recently. Franklin has Vandy looking respectable in football.

Honestly, picking a school that doesn't contribute is very difficult. I can't think of one school that just does not carry its weight at all. Maybe Missippi State? Idk

A Final Four and a historically top of the line baseball program are pretty significant contributions.

I gave them credit for their baseball program and one Final Four doesn't mean much. I mean, look at the list of teams with one Final Four to their name. LINK None of them have a rich history in basketball.

That would put us ahead of Ole Miss for sure, and Vandy if we're talking purely athletics.

The only thing the Mississippi schools bring that is significant is an easy win.

Ole Miss is mediocre in all sports, and the worst in academics.

The only thing Mississippi State has going for them is baseball.

They're close to the bottom in football
Close to the bottom in basketball (men and women)
THE bottom in academics

This isn't Ole Miss or State's fault.

ETA: State government has mandated that we set admissions ridiculously low so any retard that wants to attend can.

So what do you recommend? They drive up admissions standards and then have an almost empty class size?

Seems like it's more that there is poor education in Mississippi and it's only appeal to out of state students is good parties and good looking girls.

But we haven't been an easy win for TAMU the last two years.

Dude, no. Bama maybe, but LSU no.

As for the original question, Miss State or Arky. Miss State has only baseball, pretty terrible in every other area. Arky has cross country and was once good in basketball. Arky is clearly more competitive all around, but they're not great at much of anything important.

Alabama brings the least. Their fan base is spoiled, demands constant attention and attempts to smother the rest of the conference. Why else would an Alabama fan post a thread like this to diminish other SEC schools?

LSU is easily one of the premier programs in the SEC. Top 3 for sure. And I fricking hate LSU.
