We're preseason top 25 in baseball and should have a really strong team this year.

I don't consider Florida as having potential, I would say they are already a powerhouse. I mean yall won back to back national titles only five years ago

I don't really get this either. UF was coming off back-to-back titles just 4 seasons ago, and have since gotten back to winning the SEC and making the Elite 8. IMO, as long as Donovan is here UF is elite. I mean how many schools can claim 2 national titles in the last 6 years.

I'm becoming more and more confident that Tennessee can put together a really strong program, and that's even without being able to recruit Memphis.

I wouldn't go quite as far as saying Florida is a powerhouse, but I agree. UF won back to back titles recently, made the title game a few years before that, and was in the final four in the 90's under Lon Kruger, I believe. There's really no doubt about Florida's ability to win in basketball.

Auburn has plenty of potential with the new arena and bball facilities.

Students have actually shown an interest for the first time since Doc and Porter's days on the plains.

Barbee has a top 25 recruiting class coming in and so far has proven to be a solid coach. I look forward to what he does with his own players.

Only problem is getting alumi and other fans in the seats. This year's attendance seems to have improved but its not consistent.

Next year will tell us if there is hope for the program.

No coach wins more with less talent, although he does get a ton of talent.

So does Duke have less talent or a ton of talent? I'm confused?

Anyways, because Coach K pitched the academics at Duke as a positive instead of a negative, Duke has become the destination school for smart basketball players. This is a nation of 300 million. There is room for another school like that and Vandy could be it.

Maybe, but it would take years if not decades to build that perception.

IMO Vandy will have trouble consistently having more success than they have had.

I'm biased, but Florida all the way.

Not seeing it here

Great talent in the state, ability to recruit is always there, awesome coach currently (top5 in the country), best AD in the country, best women in tSEC, beautiful campus, great weather, excellent academics, solid fanbase, etc etc etc

Talent base in the state is fine (certainly not to the level of football, but it's there), plus we've been able to pull guys out of the northeast quite regularly in the past.

You can't argue against the other factors either.

Alabama has a very rich basketball history that most do not give credit for due to the lack of hardware and its obcession with football. It trails only Kentucky in all time wins in the SEC (31st overall) as of the end of last season. While Basketball will always be a distant second in its fans' priorities, it is a sports obsessed culture and Coleman will be full if the product on the court is competitive. So I'll go with Bama if Grant can make a deep run or two into the tourney without bolting for the ACC. It will never be a UK type perennial powerhouse, but there is no reason Bama couldn't replicate a UF like flurry of success. See last years recruiting class.
