I think state and carolina are similar....
Both aren't historical football schools but their current coach has them competing
Both have had previous success in baseball but this year sucked
this year, women's basketball was probably their best sport
That's interesting.. I've been to MSU and the only thing they have in common with SC is that they are both large Deep South state schools with a deep love for baseball.
MSU is very much an Ag/Engineering school while SC is very much a comprehensive liberal arts research university. MSU is very rural, SC is very urban.
They don't share much culturally either, besides being in deep south states. MSU is purely a Southern school.. SC on the other hand is very Southern as well, but there's also a very obvious East Coast cultural presence on campus. I'm pretty sure around 35-40% of each freshmen class comes from other states on the East Coast (mainly NC, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey)..
Culturally, I would say SC has the most in common with UGA (Deep South schools) and UF (east coast vibe)..
Athletically, maybe Mississippi State..
Academically, Alabama, Kentucky or Mizzou (well rounded, large research universities that do something REALLY well)

There is no school like Bama. Go fish.

Honestly, most of the big state schools in the SEC are all very similar.
For Bama, I guess it is most similar to UGA and Ole Miss.

Deal. Though I can't vouch for the meth. That's really up to you all... supply and demand kinda thing.

Whatever school is:
Not an Ag/Mech school traditionally, but has engineering and Ag depts
Has been co-ed since its founding
Never played army.
Has had a law school for most of its existence.
Has 25-30k students on its main campus.
Is a flagship.

I've been to every SEC school except Mizzou and UK. Covering the South East for work I know the towns on weekdays not just gamedays.
LSU is like a few schools.
UGA is like LSU with major city one hour away that is pro-town with no college feel at all.
Bama is like LSU in that the passion for college sports is found in any random person on the street.
USCe is like LSU as we are located in state capital cities, but still have a college feel to the city.
Arkansas is like LSU in that baseball is truly a top tier sport followed by even casual fans
Auburn is like LSU because they steal our band's songs and insist on calling themselves Tigers, in spite of the fact that their live War Eagle is among the coolest mascots in college football.
Florida is like LSU because well, like the other guys said about stadiums and colors.
Ole Miss is like LSU because of famous tailgating scene.
Miss State is like LSU because...baseball history and being our closest drive
Kentucky is like LSU in that Lexington and Baton Rouge are the same size.
Tenn is like LSU in that we know the names of our female athletes
Vanderbilt is like LSU with focus on being known for baseball
Missou is like LSU...I'm sure there's something.

I have always felt like LSU and UGA are similar programs. They are the only other SEC team I can half arse route for
Me too, UGA is the only other school I halfway root for.
I wish we played them more. LSU-Georgia games are usually fantastic.

Gainesville shits on A&M. Great food/bar scene that's gotten exponentially better in the past few years. Better every time I visit.
College Station, on the other hand, is Somalia.

SDSU is most like Ole Miss in that we may get to the post-season, but we aren't doing shite when we get there. Further, we are similar because we may lose, but at least the party's fun and the women are good-looking.

Nailed it (except for the arky thing... I think that's reversed actually)

I'll also add this. LSU has ducked us both. They've been trying to get away from UF for years. They actually broke their contract in the 90s to stop starting the year with an auto 0-1

Which is a fair argument. Arkansas does seem to have its own fixation on both as well. If y'all would just stop picking on them, though....

UGA because we both have the best RB in the country
