The saddest part is a fan base trying to run off a good man, damn good coach who turned down his dream job, and delivered a national championship.

We're not there yet, but if the "Keystone Cops" aren't rectified and progressions are not made - It will get Dicey. The trick here is making the call to the Bullpin before the bases are loaded with the winning run at the plate. A Florida win will deflect the media's fascination with the "DUmbAss" miracle, but continued sub-par performances by the Offense will only feed the monster.

But I think the job would get filled if it opened up.

That is a given, but how quick the search resorts to interviewing assistants will be funny to see.

Head Coaches are a "fraternity", the good ones will not leave a job that they are comfortable to jump into a "win the MNC every year or look for a new job" situation.

There can only be one champion each year, it is hard to do, but Les has proven he can do it. So why would you get rid of a known product for an unknown up and comer?

MNC has earned him the right for a new Offensive coordinator and time to "right the ship".

I think he is smarter than we give him credit. Save your Ace in the hole one more betting round only to plop that baby out when you need to pull one out of your arse.

Fire the OC and then 2 more years and by then another QB will be there and more and more talent.

Is he a proven college coach who can do the things required outside of coaching like recruiting?

Callahan was a "great", "NFL", "return of to greatness" hire at the time. Well, he was thought to have been.

All they can do is call in the plays, players have to execute.

Which part was the saddest in the LSU debacle?

There was no earthquake to swallow up the entire UT team and its fans...

A lot of people could have had a lot of success with the program he inherited. Yes I think we could do well if Miles made a simple adjustment of hiring a top notch OC and then Miles take off the headsets and become the waterboy.

tennessee fans thinking LSU "cheated" when UT had 13 fricking players on defense

Like you said it is simple, replace the O coordinator. Is he suppose to do it mid season? I guarantee you the coaches have met and formulated a plan to fix the O the best they can until the off season to where Les can bring in the personnel and recruits he needs to fix it.

Knee jerk decisions can set a program a decade back or more, I've seen this. Hiring Crowe was knee jerk, firing him after the Citadel game on the 50 yard line was more so. This set our program back years to the point it completely changed the national perspective of our program. I'm sure if you were a fan pre-saban you know how bad things really can be.

Oh it can always get worse and the list is probably short of the number of guys in this world who could meet the expectations. Doesn't mean you should never try. Problem is people wanted Crowton gone last year.

I think this is why LSU fans are so upset. Crowton should have been gone and he is still here. Our talent is off the charts and we have some guy who won't adapt to his lack of talent at QB. He just continues to try a extremely complicated Offense that our QB cannot handle.

How about this offense. Talk the ball out of the QBs hands and get it to the legitimate play makers in the backfield, and at WR. Throw away that stupid read option and the pistol and just have the QB manage the freaking game. That is all we need him to do.

You guys could go after Malzahn, he would go as he has commented on how Mullen was able to land a BCS head coaching gig after coordinating MNC teams. That is his goal and he knows Auburn would be hard pressed to win a MNC, especially compared to LSU.

However, the boo-birds can not be helping Les on the recruiting front. It is sad when fans make things as hard as possible on a head coach because he doesn't "win enough" or run an offense that is "exciting" or has "style".

Even more so when you consider how great of a guy Les is. Yeah, I was pissed when he called us "R-Kansas" but once he explained he thought that was how we pronounced the state and he picked it up from watching the weather while coaching in Oklahoma and hearing those guys call the state that, it made sense and was plausible. It was just 3 short seasons ago he turned down his dream job at Michigan to stay, it seems that has been appreciated.

No proof he was officially offered the job at Michigan.

Yeah but we all know that at that point if he wanted it, it was his. His stock was off the charts at that point. He could have picked almost any coaching job in college at that point and they would have welcome him with truck loads of cash.
