fwiw he's kept Saban's grimey hands off of most of our top players. Only really lost out on Collins besides guys we offered ridiculously late like Lacy

Steve Spurrier Hasn't won anything in years so no
Kevin Sumlin Hasn't won anything and found a genie in a bottle with JFF. I think I will wait 4 or 5 yrs down the road before I would take him. Everyone thought Gene Chizik was the greatest while Cam was there but when he left he bombed.
Mark Richt No way in hell I would tkae Richt. He is the eastern version of Mack Brown except no MNC.
Dan Mullen Really?
Hugh Freeze Agian what has this guy won?
Bret Bielema Not sure what to make of Bret. I would have to wait and see what he does at Ark. If he can win there he can win anywhere.
Will Muschamp Another one that hasn't won shite
James Franklin I would have to see him at a bigger school or have more success.
Gary Patterson Yes
Urban Meyer frick no
Dabo Swinney No
Brian Kelly No
Jimbo Fisher Hell no

7 games his first year after OM going 2-10 the previous and not winning an SEC game in two years?

Tbh, I have seen a few times, during games (not speaking of recruiting) when this was the case.

it was a decent season for yalls standards, I'll admit. but lets not forget that 2/3 of those SEC wins were against two fricking terrible teams

Is that worth a job at one of the best college football programs in the country and 4+ million a year? I would hope if LSU is in a coaching search we don't have to take gambles on coaches like Freeze.

What's not to love about this guy:
Yeah, I get his point and love that he backs his players (as he should). I think it's his delivery. Reminds me a little of Nutt with all the emotion. I just prefer a less animated, more dry, less talkative HC. Just seems more "in control."

Sumlin and Spurrier are the only ones. No one else is as good as Les.

What team don't? Every winning team has to have good enough players to win. Take all those 5 stars away from Saban and see how many championships he wins. This is just a stupid argument to me.
Damn near every game when LSU steps on the field against Alabama who has the best coach in college football and the best players, LSU has played them close every game but one. I think that's enough proof to me that he's a better coach than anyone else on that list.

So if Saban and Alabama is the benchmark, why isn't Sumlin's perfect record against the Tide taken in to consideration?

You serious, Clark?

Any one who says yes to Richt is just bias. The complaints against the two are the same, but Richt has never won a national championship or even been to one.

Like I said, I'm not arguing LSU's success. The question was "what coach would I take over Les Miles"? For Arkansas, I just don't think he would be a good fit, and I'm taking out my personal opinion of him.
Many teams don't have the talent and depth to win "in spite of" their coach. There are few teams in the country with the caliber of players as LSU and Alabama.

True. I just think most of the good results have more to do with LSU's draw of superior athletes than the head coach, imo.
You don't understand football then. Apply that to Texas. Or USC. Or the Gators during UM's last couple years.

He did a pretty good job at Okla st. I think he could have the same success at Ark.

This.
Les just keeps rebuilding and winning.
The more he beats them the better his "resources" are and the "luckier" he is.

Well, at this point, after Arkansas' last season, I'm sure he would have much success.
