My top 5, in order:
1964
1964
1964
1964
1964
I remember 1964 fondly, I was running around as a mountain lion trying to kill shite before some hunter killed me and I was reincarnated as some other shite.

Will two decades from now LSU's 2011 flop on the big state will rank in the top 3 MNC arse beatings ?
Since only the 04 vacated game compares my first instinct was yes but...20 years? With playoff that would allow an OSU (Cowboy type) team with a D ranked 100+ so most likely allowing these type tems in the future my best bet would say no, there will be worse. Probably much worse.

I respect the Tides football program, and most of their fans. There is a certain segment that can simply fall off the face of the earth, but this is probably true for every program.

Recency bias in these polls always makes me laugh. They are always in reverse chronological order.

Nebraska over Florida 96- You didn't ask what team DA.

The only correct answer is '64.

'92 and '09 were much more important than '11. 92 proved Bama was still an elite program after Bear, and 09 proved Bama was still an elite program after Shula.

1945, 1966 and 1977 were my favorites... I have fond memories from those years and all I can say is...
WE WERE SCREWED, DAMMIT!!!!111

For me it was 92. It is always nice to win a NC but that one was special because of who we beat. Miami was so arrogant leading up to that game. The media, Miami and the rest of college football didn't give Alabama a chance and then it happened. Alabama beat the shite out of Miami. It looked like an NFL team playing a D II college team.
My favorite win by far.

You can tell how many bandwagon bama fans post here. The correct answer is '92 and it isn't even close.

I wouldn't say bandwagon. Mostly younger folks I think.

Prolly kids too young to realize 92 was an epic beatdown over favored Miami.
The jitterbugs of today do not realize what Miami once was.

Why do so many Arky fans like Bama's 1964 national title?

.teague's strip is my all time favorite moment from an alabama player. even though it didn't count, it just put an exclamation point on what alabama did to miami in that game.
It. Did. Count.
Without it, Miami declines the defensive off-sides penalty and instead opts for the big gainer, potentially for a game tightening score. If Teague doesn't catch him, they score. If he just tackles him, they're deep in our territory. He strips it, and they are forced to accept a measly and worthless 5 yard penalty.
It mystifies me that, to this day, this is still characterizes a play that "didn't count."

It was a huge upset. BTW I was a sophomore at Alabama in 1992. Miami was positively a dynasty--this is the game that shut the book on that. Funny, the 30 for 30 special on Miami didn't even mention this game. But it was a significant turning point. What had they won up to that point--like 5 titles? And they were the defending national champs. And heavily favored.
From that standpoint it was a very satisfying win. But it wasn't as dominating as 21-0 victory over LSU. I need to stop splitting hairs--92 09 and 11 are all special in their own way.
