I think if you went to each of the schools and asked which of their alumni are more likely to hit "likes" on stories related to their alumni, A&M would blow everyone away.
Aggies can't just celebrate Memorial Day like everyone else. They have to have a special mini-Aggie Memorial Day carve out. I think the other alumni from other schools are just lazy as hell about Facebook.
So netted out, if you did a poll about what aluni used Facebook the most, the Aggies would be way up there. Then do a poll about which schools are most appealing to people who aren't alumni, and the A&M numbers probably go down, relatively speaking.
Hence the not so surprising number.

We are special like that, only Nebraska or Penn St. comes close to us on internet polls. Best in the state and the SEC (and no that isn't on the stadium).

The state of Georgia has a lot more people than the state of Alabama, so it's entirely possible.
It's not just possible. It's an absolute certainty. The same is true of UT. LSU and Arkansas would be close. Louisiana is a smaller state in terms of population, but there isn't another school in the state capable of pulling in non-alums.
