Mizzou gets a ton of kids from Illinois who can't get into U of I. UGA is full of white privilege from the ATL burbs...

You can say the same for Auburn as well.

Only if you include Birmingham as part of Metro Atlanta, which I would support.

ATL burbs puts out some douchebags for real tho.

Kids from Savannah and Augusta and the like are better.

Same is true at Auburn.

If you use this website's "compare" function, it will show you what states the student body comes from. Here I compared Mizzou vs Arkansas vs LSU. It looks like Illinois is your Texas:

scroll down a ways

Mizzou:

Missouri 61.3%
Illinois 22.7%
Foreign Countries 2.9%
Texas 2.4%
Minnesota 1.6%
Kansas 1.6%

U of Arkansas:

Arkansas 50.5%
Texas 25.3%
Missouri 8.1%
Oklahoma 4.7%
Kansas 3.5%
Tennessee 2.4%
Foreign Countries 1.3%
Louisiana 0.7%
Illinois 0.5%
Florida 0.4%

LSU:

Louisiana 81.6%
Texas 7.4%
Foreign Countries 1.3%
Georgia 1.3%
Florida 1.3%
Mississippi 0.7%
Virginia 0.7%

Any international students?

Mizzou has students from all 50 states and a lot of international too. Those aren't top 5 sources of students for us though, at least I don't think.

Half from Alabama, the other half from the other SEC states. Lots of Atlanta and Houston kids.
My daughter's a freshman at UA - her '14 pledge class of +/-125 girls is 20% from California, 15-20% from NY/NJ, 20% from Texas with less than 15% from in-state and a small % from all over the east coast.

Louisiana and Texas mostly, but I was fortunate to meet great people from MS, GA & FL as well. I'd be willing to bet that LSU has the most state diversification in the SEC.

I'd say Vandy definitely has the most diverse student body just because their academic prestige is such a draw. I'm surprised whenever I run into a Vandy student from Tennessee...I only know 1.

Ole Miss has become very popular with the local private school kids here in Montgomery. Do y'all offer in-state tuition to OOS kids with high GPA/ACT scores?

Not sure.....what attracts most of the out of staters is how easy it is to get in. You can go to OM with a 2.0 gpa and an 18 on the ACT. And yes we get a lot of private school kids from Birmingham, Mtn Brook, Montgomery, Mobile, and Nashville

That's like finding a UTK grad in Chattanooga. I've lived here for over four years now, and I've only met one - and she graduated during the Ford administration. Most of the college grads from around here go to UT-Chattanooga.

As for USC, after SC residents, I'd say NC kids are next, followed by Ga. Then you get into your mid-Atlantic kids.

Nope - y'all are a very clanish bunch down there. I'd bet LSU is 75% instate or higher.

Arkansas being 25% Texan is the new normal here. It wasn't like that even 10 years ago. DFW's fastest growing northern burbs are only a little over 4 hours south of Fayetteville. They are 3 hours from College Station, for comparison.

The recent huge corporate relocations to Collin County mean that their already ridiculous growth might accelerate in the near future, even though it is leading the country right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if the University of Arkansas is around 50% DFW kids sometime in the next decade.

Old law requires all state institutions have the same admission standards. Ayers Case I think.

If you can get in to J State you can get in to UM or MSU.
