I will say this, if we're going down I hope "The Network" uses all this money, media spin, etc.. that everyone accuses us of doing and bring the whole thing down. Let's have Nkemdiche and Tunsil talk to Danny Kannell about what the other schools of the SEC offered them. Maybe also have the network pay some of the other schools former players who are doing nothing with their lives right now to speak up about the improper benefits they received.
Obviously I'm kidding about this, but any fan rooting for the NCAA to start cracking down is an idiot and delusional. They drop the hammer on Ole Miss it could just as easily be any other SEC program next.

I am hearing that it's because Ole Miss got sloppy but that it could lead to unwanted attention on other big name programs around the country.

This. If you're a fan of a school that "stole" a big recruit from us....there's a bit of smoke coming from your way right now. No one will ever believe that a guy turned down money to go play for free.
Alabama is excluded for championship reasons.
