better team that day? ok. Best team over the course of the season? Debatable at best.

Like you say, yes its debatable. LSU beat Bama on their home field which is impressive. That game was a defensive battle.

BUT. . .

The NCG in NOLA was a disgrace. I'm just happy they finally got past the 50. I'm not sure how you can ONLY say that was just a bad day for LSU. I can also debate that it was pretty much an LSU home game on the biggest stage.

Anybody trying to argue Georgia deserved to be there over LSU in 2007 is just trolling. Give it up.

They lost their games prior to a 6 game winning streak...they lost in the first half of the season vs LSU who went into the BCS title game on a 1-2 run...We can argue over who was more deserving all day but the bottom line is 2007 LSU backed into the championship game when there were legit arguments for other teams...Bama wouldn't have made it in the championship game had they lost the final game of the year in 2011 or 2012, defintely not after losing their final two...even with a conference championship win.

Ok, take LSU out of it. Explain to me how Person B is just as deserving of something as Person A when Person B's accomplishments are significantly less than Person A's?
4 years later Person B beats Person A 21-0 in the BCSNCG... Thats how

Mizzou wasn't in the SEC yet. You have no point. Go die.

You are just weeks until realizing that Ole Miss still sucks, and will forever be at the bottom of the SEC. Enjoy the season.

the final game of the regular season is no more important than the first.

Sure it is depending on who you play.

So winning the division is a prerequisite?

No but it damn sure is taken into account.

UGA's two losses looked much better than LSU's that year

Shouldn't we look at the WINS before we compare losses? I mean what kind of arse backward logic are you trying to push here? If you're talking about who is the most DESERVING then the first and really only prerequisite is what did you accomplish, what did you WIN.

LSU beat something like 9 ranked teams in 2007. LSU won it's division, LSU won the SEC. LSU accomplished much more in the 2007 regular season than Georgia did. Period, end of story.

When your shitfaced football program can actually finish a year with 1-2 losses for a change.

In 2007 I would say UGA was just as deserving as LSU

UGA beat a couple 9 win teams in Florida and Auburn (both of whom LSU also beat) and lost by three touchdowns to a 10 win Tennessee program. UGA in 2007 was a nice team but they had no great wins on their schedule to point to and didn't win their division or their conference.

LSU beat that Tennessee team and an 11 win Va Tech team prior to beating up tOSU in the bowl game. It was probably the combination of Pitt beating WVU, LSU beating Tennessee, and people noticing Va Tech had risen to the top of the polls that made voters step back and remember LSU had destroyed that Va Tech and put LSU into the championship game.
