Bama previously had a plan to play H/H/N games every three years. That went out the window when GT asked out of the 2013/2014 H/H series. When that happened the Atlanta Sports Council obtained a tentative agreement with USC to play Bama in their game in either of those years (USC's choice). The ASC began negotiations with Bama for both years not knowing which year USC would choose.

The agreement with USC ended when Pete Carroll left and the ASC wound up contracting Bama for both years. 2015 was still open for the neutral site game and was used for that purpose. After playing all three years in neutral site games, Saban decided he preferred that to the three year plan of H/H/N.

It's really pretty simple. Saban wants no part of another blue blood on their home field. Can't say I blame him either, Bama doesn't need to take risks like that to get into a playoff.

Ohio State has been a Top 10 team pretty much every year the last 25 maybe besides 2 of those years
Alabama has finished outside of the AP poll
in the last 25 years more times than Ohio State has finished outside of the Top 10

What good is that if you don't have anything to show for it?

tOSU has also enjoyed a ridiculously easy conference slate for most of those years. They've been good but they've also benefited from very weak competition.

Ask them
My point is that success is measured in consistent winning over the years

Bama has not been consistent

I am not an Ohio State fan but I view their program as #1 in my lifetime with Florida State #2
My viewing lifetime is about the 89 season to today
Alabama would may be #3 with Nebraska or USC the other Top 5 programs

That is not true at all

The BIG conference was only down for maybe a few years around Ohio State and Penn State's probation and Michigan falling apart

Alabama can play another major program at a neutral site in a top recruiting ground.

That's some idiotic logic. What makes playing USC or Florida State at a neural site safer than at home. A stadium that Alabama has lost five games in since 2007.

The Big 10 has usually been pretty top heavy. A few good teams, then it would fall off a cliff

I do not think Bama is viewed as the king of the hill

Clemson beat you last year
Ohio State has been more successful
Texas brings in more money
USC, Michigan and ND have a lot more prestige

Good lord. That's way too shiny.

William you may find more happiness if you lose your infatuation with daddy Bama. Just a suggestion.
