I can't remember the last time I was actually nervous about BAMA playing Tennessee. These days I just automatically check a "W" for the 3rd Saturday in October. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

yea, thank goodness the rest of the SEC is held hostage to this garbage so this crown jewel can continue.

Make it three , although I am spending most of my time stalking the POS known as Lane Kiffin.

2 consecutive abysmal hires after Fulmer. that can kill a program. Fulmer getting Mack Brown'd or Bobby Bowden'd in his last years didn't help either.

Tennessee, under Fulmer, committed many atrocities over his decade and a half in power.

He said a lot of very hubristic things about other programs which he was dominating at the time - not a very classy move.

He cheated his arse off in South Carolina, where recruiting was concerned .... I cannot attest to what he did in other states but there is always the famous Wells Fargo - Tee Martin receipts I suppose. In SC he was just blatant. He gave players cars, gave their families jobs, etc. Hell, we pretty much know he did it in North Carolina as well. What was that offensive lineman's name out of NC who's family came forward and ratted-out Fulmer once he left Knoxville. Brandon something or other maybe? Seems like it started with a B. Same kid who visited SC but could not commit here because our Governor, Hodges, had him over to the mansion and he was declared ineligible after that.

Anyways, as the saying went and I witnessed myself, the parking lot outside of the training and dorm area for UT football players used to look like an Escalade Dealership. Fulmer is one of the biggest scumbags of all times right there along with Mike Hamilton.

And yes, Fulmer sacrificed a lot of good people through his decisions and during his little meetings with Culpepper, and others, over at Jim, Jimmy and Bill Haslam's secret hide-a-way near Chattanooga.

It's karma kickback they are experiencing throughout all of their athletic department, not payback administered by any one individual or program. And it appears to be a well-deserved karma kickback.

December 8, 2001. It was the end of an era and the start of a new one.

Yeah it seems like in every state they border + the state of TN they are getting boxed out by programs that are on the rise and / or have risen.

The factors you listed are similar to what contributed to A&M's decade of suck in the Big 12. Obviously it wasn't as big a downfall as UT's, but I just see a lot of similarities. The Kiffin hire was a headscratcher from the beginning though, while Fran wasn't exposed until later on.

Tennessee does not have much instate talent. Bama and LSU rebuilt by building a fence around their states. Same with South Carolina. UT was good when they took the best out of La,Ga,Fl and SC.

The high school recruits today don't remember Tenner ever being good so the out of state recruiting is much tougher.

Fulmer recruited thugs that other schools refused to recruit. Kiffin did the same.Attrition hurt the Vol program.Dooley inherited a depleted roster.

UT has never been able to win with instate talent. See their rosters from 40-50 yrs ago.

when you win an SEC title and a national title you can claim this or better yet when you win the East. Until then UT is always big brother in Tennessee

i dont see how this is relevant to the last 8 years of Vanderbilt or Tennessee football. Maybe you should have posted something like this:
quote:

Congrats on the giant turnaround! VU now has 2 wins over the Vols in 30 years. After your big tipping point win in 2005, here's what happened: 2006 39-10 Loss 2007 25-24 Loss 2008 20-10 Loss 2009 31-16 Loss 2010 24-10 Loss 2011 27-21 Loss Guess what? Deja vu all over again after the big win in 2012!

See this is at least somewhat relevant but i will say to the UT fan that posted this, this thread isn't so much about the Win/loss record between UT and Vandy it's about the overall state of each program and how since November 2005 they could not be more opposite

Well isn't UT still 6-2 against Vandy over that span?

Their idiot fans and AD got rid of Fulmer and his stable program because they just knew they were gonna get an upgrade....then they got Kiffin.

No we are not. We have an abundance of pompus arse, no pussy getting, play with my Erector Set and masturbate arse hats. I wish we had a normal SEC fan base then Vandy boards would be much much better.

You just defined a bandwagon fan after claiming they are not bandwagon fans.
