I, and most people, differentiate paying for loaner cars (which is exorbitant), and paying for diapers and formula.

Bad news is I'm not the NCAA. Murder doesn't carry the same penalty as swiping a candy bar at a gas station. But to the NCAA it apparently does.

Now, ever since the whole "schools/coaches are making millions so we should pay players," the NCAA has backed off given the current lawsuit against them. Manziel was pretty much let off because the general public believes he should be able to get paid for his own autograph.

It won't be a good look if the NCAA looks like they're bullying poor college athletes that want to keep the lights on at his mom's house.

But given the abundance of it all and the fact that everyone thought it was fishy that OM was recruiting that well, the NCAA will come down.
Unfortunately for OM, they are a victim of their own name. They will never be able to recruit well without someone looking into it.

This particular OM booster was trying to be Leann Touhey. I'm afraid she has set a bad precedence on that campus. Every small time OM booster will try to copycat her.

Regardless of how he is described by the NCAA in Allegation No. 8, Hughes says his intentions were honorable even if he failed to successfully navigate the NCAA manual for what it makes off-limits for prospective football student-athletes.

Ole Piss

That's really cute.....

Where are you from? It says Starkville, MS Bitch on your profile. Is that true?

If so, you're making fun of literally the only thing we have in common. I guess that makes you a fan of Pississippi State right? You see what I did there? I changed the 'M' of Mississippi to a 'P'. exactly like you did.

Isn't that funny? The 11 year old in me is laughing my arse off.. Unfortunately for you, that's your mindset. That of an 11 year old. It's so cute. And sad.

Oh and

I'm glad your life is finally becoming complete now that Ole Piss is in trouble. 'If you can't beat them yourself, just pray pray and pray harder that someone else will.' I'm happy for you. I can't imagine how miserable your life has been these last 11 years. It'll come crashing back down starting in September. I hope you guys have at least 5 wins coming into Oxford.

I don't care about this guy's argument. But I'm happy to find out who thought this permanent banner was money well spent.

The problem is that we recruited and signed one of the many kids he helped. A two star player. Ole Miss doesn't dispute that this was a violation but it clearly isn't related to some sophisticated buying of players deal like the Means and Redmond issues were.

the message is clear

if I purchase diapers and baby formula for a needy student mom, then I'm allowed unlimited cheating for the football program

No. The message is that you can be disassociated and earn your team a loss of scholarships no matter how good your intentions are.

An entertaining read in that thread for those who like watching two drunks in a bar fight. Some real gems in there.

Haven't read the article but is the same thing as the article that came out months ago about the Memphis booster that was taking the recruit to different schools for visits?

If so...he took the same recruit to a visit at Arkansas state. This one will likely get thrown out....or at least minimized. There's documented proof of a prior relationship with the recruit before he was being recruited to Ole miss.

My comment was about the link posted by Harry Rex Vonner and the fight between State and Ole Miss posters. Pankreb, you actually had some of the most entertaining posts in that thread, especially in light of the problems today.

I wasn't necessarily replying to you....just a general comment and you happened to be the last post.
